tinnitus - get your hearing aids insured!!
while out on a regular five mile hill walk two weeks ago high up on the Quantocks, with the weather windy and cold then warmer and still, my hat was on and off every ten mins. By the time I reached the car I noticed that one of the aids was no longer there. It’s wasnt in the scarf, down my top or in

IV placement in hands when you have Scleroderma & Raynaud's
Hello, I am undergoing Rituxan infusions for ANCA vasculitis, systemic sclerosis (scleroderma) & mixed connective tissue disorder. The IV is in place an average of 6 to 8 hours. Rheumatologist & dermatologist told me NOT to have IV placement in my hands due to high gangrene/ulcer/etc. risk. There

BUPRENORPHINE
This is my story: I am 74 and have had RLS since I had a Cervical Fusion in 1984. I took different medications until I went into augmentation from pramipexole 3 years ago. Then all hell broke loose. For the past two years I would walk all night because I could not sit. I used my stationary bike

Rise in CA125
I’ve recently have had Pneumonia and Pleurisy. My CA125 was checked yesterday and my CNS has just called me to say that it has risen to 64. She also said that it can rise due to the pneumonia and they will discuss it at next weeks MDT meeting. There is a possibility they may repeat my bloods in 4 weeks

When the drugs don’t work
Where to begin… my poor Mum had her first hip replacement in 2007, but it broke and she had a revision in 2008. Unfortunately she was in more pain than ever, and they were about to write the pain off as psychological but thankfully she got referred to an Orthopaedic Specialist hospital who discovered

Barrigel and markers
This Wednesday I am scheduled to have barrigel and markers. Doctor told me to take two extra strength Tylenol an hour before the procedure as well as one Valium. Also, antibiotics. Is the one Valium enough to calm me down as I am pretty anxious about the procedure? Has anyone else who has had these?

paxlovid and abiraterone
there may already be posts like this, and If there are I’m sorry, I couldn’t find them! my dad is covid positive (first time!). I read on here in the past some of you said that you can’t take paxlovid with abiraterone? He is on that, flomax and lupron. I know it’s better to take paxlovid before it

Persistent infections
Hi all It’s been a few years since I posted my one and only post but I’ve been following, if not commenting, on and off over those years and, as always, appreciate all the information I pick up. I have a general query now as my condition has changed quite a bit since Covid and the lockdowns etc. Prior

Reynaud's Problems
Hi there, I'm wondering if anyone has any help or suggestions for me keeping my fingers warm at my work, I'm a postman and my Reynaud's is causing me big problems when the weather is cold my fingers go so cold and numb, I've tried different kind of gloves but nothing works.

buprenorphine -what next
I’ve been on buprenorphine for about 2 months now. I take 600 micrograms. I have also been slowly reducing from pregabalin by 25 mg every two weeks and am now on 100mg. I had nausea when I started buprenorphine but that stopped after a couple of weeks only to return. I have totally lost my appetite

Covid and flu vaccine
I had both my covid and flu boosters yesterday and have just had a really uncomfortable night. I was experiencing fever and chills and pain all over my body. Has anyone else had this problem? I wondered if it was associated with the scleroderma as my body always does overreact to anything foreign. I’

The MELODY study has been published! I Short summary of the MELODY study paper COVID-19 can be a serious infection that can lead to treatment in hospital or even death. We know from previous research that people who have a weakened immune system were more likely to catch COVID-19. The MELODY study

eosinophilia and nasty chest cold
everything has been good for a year now. I have been prescribed another bio - Tezzy which has been life savingly wonderful. I have reduced steroids and consultant is hopeful of elimination soon. Energy levels have really improved too. So, in the last two days I have nosedived. I put this down to cold
