My wife (78) was diagnosed with PSP about 30 months ago and is in slow decline. Her voice is getting weaker and I am finding it difficult to hear what she says, much of it is mumbled. My hearing aids are bluetooth enabled, so I wondered if anyone had managed to amplify a patient's voice using a bluetooth microphone? These are available on Amazon.
Thanks to PSPA my wife's voice has been recorded so that, in the future, a voice synthesiser may sound more like her. But how can she communicate with that? Her eyesight is bad and she has trouble with buttons on the TV remote control, so I'm not sure how she will use an iPad. What is the best App to try and use for this?
Lack of the ability to communicate easily is making life stressful for both of us, so any advice will be welcomed and treasured.
Thank you

We had a similar problem with my husband's speech volume diminishing until it eventually disappeared altogether. I didn't think of using a bluetooth microphone and earphones at the time, so can't comment on whether it will work. But before you spend money on buying something off Amazon, perhaps you can experiment using a smartphone or a laptop as the microphone, connected to your hearing aid by bluetooth. That may be sufficient for you to at least test your idea out?
