Steroid injections

I am waiting for a private appointment x 2 for steroid injections at the back of my head-one left and one right done on different dates. Just wondering if i take my normal Pred each time. I am currently on 3.5mg.

Steroid injections go directly to the point of pain…. Oral steroids [especially at such a low doses] probably have little or no effect on whatever you are having them for].

If I cast my mind back, I had injections in my arthritic knee whilst still on lower doses of Pred [probably higher than 3.5mg].

But if you’re not sure, can you ring ahead of appointment and ask?

I would continue my oral dose as normal. Deep muscle injections (in your bum) work for PMR but I doubt the sort you are getting will.
