Beta blockers.
I've been prescribed a new medication today, Atenolol. I'm to stop taking Bisoprolol and start the new med. For those of you who take Atenolol, if you've got a minute to tell me how you go on with it I'd be grateful.

Update on change of meds.
Hi all. I wrote on here nearly 3weeks ago about my GP eventually changing my Bisoprolol to Atenolol. I have been feeling fine since then, no problems walking but still struggling a bit with hills and steps. Hopefully this will improve. I know I’m not fit but been more able to walk lately. The only

Change of meds
Hi all. I wrote on here a couple of weeks ago about asking my GP to change my beta blocker as Bisoprolol was causing me problems. She refused so today I saw a different doctor who after putting the fear of god into me about stopping beta blockers, said he would change them. It’s a trial for a couple

I took the Needs Assessment
I was looking for information on a switch from Atenolol to Bisoprolol (introduced by my GP) and I'm on the last blister sachet of the former. But I've found out much more here and look forward to finding motivation for weight loss & exercise but with a bad knee situation. My doctor said I can do some

Update after seeing cardiologist and rehab assesment.
Good Morning all. I saw the Cardiologist after a visit to the A&E. I had an episode of my heart thumping in my chest and mentioned it to my rehab nurse who advised me to go to my Dr and have an ECG which I did and they sent me to A&E as a precaution. They couldn’t find anything to worry about but booked

This is a call out for. Do you feel down after your 3 month rheumatology review for Lupus?
Hi all - I've just received my rheumatology review letter and am really down and very tearful. I feel helpless and hopeless suddenly. I have Lupus SLE (diagnosed this Feb but Rheumy thinks I've had it since birth) and the plan is for me to continue on Methotrexate and now folic acid 6 days a week. I

Productive GP appointment today
After messing about for 2 weeks waiting for a GP phone call, I hand delivered a letter to the surgery last week listing what I needed to talk about and was rewarded with a loooong face-face appointment today. 1. Back, hip and leg pain. We discussed the fact that this pain has been present for a long

More good news for me.
Saw Cardiologist a few days ago after we had a disagreement last time I saw her about adding yet another pill to mix. Rheumy told me to wait until results of the last echo was done before making a decision. Cardio wanted me to stop my Nifedipine (needed for my Raunauds) and take another drug-not suitable

I was first made aware of irregular heart beat when under aesthetic for a Cyst to be removed from my Jaw. I was treated with Soltalol to get me through the operation at a later date. I then went into Bisoprolol but found Atenolol suited me better for a while. I then had two bad episodes about 18 months

Reasons why drugs won’t work for Raynauds?
Hello to anyone reading. I have secondary Raynauds and Systemic Sclerosis. I don’t know if anyone can answer my question, but does anyone know why medication wouldn’t work for Raynauds? I’ve tried Nifedipine, 75mg losartan and now Sildenafil but nothing seems to touch it and wondered why? Why wouldn’

I’m going to see Professor Denton! 😊
Hi there. I saw my Rheumatologist today for a medication review. I started taking nifedipine (for Raynauds) but had to stop because it made me feel very unwell. They then started me on 25mg losartan increasing to 50mg and then 75mg with no effect, so I have now been prescribed Sildenafil 25mg - 50mg

Awful headaches at around 6.30 pm every evening.
Currently experiencing fairly severe headaches at the same sort of time every evening, often involving eye strain and sometimes a poked in the eye sensation. It has become so regular I dread it. I have tried over the counter pain relief that doesn’t touch it - even Tramadol from earlier. Last night I

Son 5 with SVT
Hi, My son is 5 years old and has had SVT since birth. His episodes happen quite regularly. He is on atenolol and he does a headstand and his heart rate generally goes back down within seconds. If this doesn’t work he has a cold shower and the shock of that generally works. The hospital want him to go
