Update after seeing cardiologist and rehab assesment.

Good Morning all. I saw the Cardiologist after a visit to the A&E. I had an episode of my heart thumping in my chest and mentioned it to my rehab nurse who advised me to go to my Dr and have an ECG which I did and they sent me to A&E as a precaution. They couldn’t find anything to worry about but booked a 7-day halter. I have had the results of the halter from the cardiologist it showed a few irregular heartbeats but again nothing too much to worry about but they do want to do another angiogram (my 3rd in 18 months). They also mentioned after the Angiogram they may discuss a Bypass as I have 3 arteries affected by CHD. Hopefully, this will not be the case but if they advise it I will obviously go with the professionals.

Last Friday I had a rehab assessment and it was just walking for 6 minutes but I had a pain in my back and down my left arm halfway through so I had to stop. They sent me for an ECG which showed I was having a few extra beats and I also have low BP. They are tweaking my pills stopping Atenolol and replacing with bisoprolol and also stopping my nitro patches and replacing them with a pill (not sure the name of that one yet). They don’t want me to do rehab until after my Angiogram which makes sense. So that is the latest on my story and I am so happy to be back in the UK to understand everything that is explained to me. That was a lot longer than I expected but I felt I had to get it all down in writing to people who have been there and a lot worse. I find this site helps me a lot, reading the posts and occasionally adding my own.

Hi mirador,

Sorry to hear of your latest news but also pleased they seem to be getting to the bottom of it. As a quad bypass member the op really does sound worse than it is. Yes it's a slow recovery but they do work and you will get better.

Regards Mark

Hi Mark, thank you for your reply. I am very happy with all the treatment and help I have been given, yes a bypass does sound scary but I know if I need one it will probably put me back on the road to fitness again. It really helps to be on this forum as these things go around in your head and I am aware I don't want to bore people about it. I read every post that goes on here, one day I hope I can give a helpful reply to some of them.

Well we'll never get bored, no two are exactly alike but if this place and the members can help others that's brilliant
