Has anyone had severe stomach bloating on 50 mg of atenolol for hypertension I have been on atenolol 50mg for 6 months &only in the last few weeks I have stomach bloating, I am also on 8mg of candesartan which I was prescribed 2 weeks ago any reviews will be most welcome.

I’ve been on atenolol for 7 years with no stomach bloating.

Hi, I was on atenolol for a couple of months and had side effects. My GP switched me to amlodopine and I’ve been on it for over a year now with no problems. I suggest you talk to your GP and ask if that one might be a suitable alternative for you. Or a different one altogether of course.
