Weight gain from changing medication, please help......
My partner was on Myfortic Acid for 3 years before changing to Azathioprine. Around the same time she also changed her beta blocker from Atenolol to Bisoprolol. Approx 4months after these alterations in her medication she noticed that she had water retention around the chest and abdomen causing her weight

Can Nifedipine cause muscle weakness in the oesophagus as I have seen mentioned on some web sites? If so, this is where I get confused.
Suffering with Raynaulds and on Nifedipine I now have swollowing and digestive problems so have been told I also have Scleroderma. Could it not just be the medication for the Raynaulds and if so is it reversable once you stop taking the medication?

Should I return to work (a primary school) where there are many cases of Slapped Cheek? Is it safe or am I at risk?
I take methotrexate, hydroxychloroquine, warfarin, nifedipine and escitalopram. I have SLE, raynauds and antiphospholipid syndrome. I have been off work for a couple of weeks with kidney pain - am waiting for kidney biopsy as I may have lupus nephritis.

Nifedipine here I come!
After having moved last year, my new doctor has finally received my notes from the old surgery. She hasn't had time yet to go through the huge pile of bumpf but did listen to me and took a look at my fingers. (Un)fortunately as it was a really warm day there wasn't too much to see. However she has put

A little history Raynaud's to RA
Hello All As this is my first blog I fell I ought to say something about myself. I've now had Raynaud's for 11 years coming on in my late 30s and have attended my local Rheumatology clinic since then. My father had Lupus and I now see the consultant who treated my father. The consultant doesn’t think

Does anyone find vitamin E helps with Raynaud's? If so how much? I've tried nifedipine etc over the years
( I'm 71 - had raynauds from early teens) Prescribed meds only work for a time. Any suggestions welcome, I'm sure theres an answer somewhere!

How many Raynaud's attacks per day is safe?
Hello all. I am on Nifedipine for Raynaud's (secondary to rheumatoid arthritis). I was getting about 15 attacks per day before going on medication. I still get 2 or 3 attacks per day. Is this safe or should I seek further treatment? Please advise me.

Flaky nails and rough hands
Hi - I have been diagnosed with Raynaud's and am seeing a Rheumatologist tomorrow as the Nifedipine tablets aren't having the desired effect. My hands are really rough, with flaky skin and my fingernails are also brittle and flaky and just will not grow; they split all the time. Is this connected to

Nifedipine - Just been prescribed it and a little anxious.
If anyone has been on this medication, can you let me know what to expect with it. My doctor talked me through all the possible side effects etc, but wanted to hear from some real life experiences with this particular med. Started on 5mg once a day for a week, then twice a day for a week and then up

I've been diagnosed for a year now and have yet to find anyone who has the same version of the disease. It's been quite a year, but I'm keeping smiling. I'm on mycophenolate, nifedipine, ramipril and aspirin....so far....and iloprost (infusing as I speak!). Would be good to say hello to anyone in a similar
