More good news for me.

Saw Cardiologist a few days ago after we had a disagreement last time I saw her about adding yet another pill to mix. Rheumy told me to wait until results of the last echo was done before making a decision. Cardio wanted me to stop my Nifedipine (needed for my Raunauds) and take another drug-not suitable for Raynaud's)

So glad I said no- The results have improved quite dramatically. Mitral valve regurgitation got from severe to mild and the ejection fraction (the way the heart pumps out blood) has gone from 45% (low to borderline) and is at 65% -now normal! The Rheumy told me that sometimes Specialists can be a bit one eyed, looking at only what the organ they are worried about and not look at patient as a whole. It's taken nearly a year to be "normal" or as normal as I can be :) So on track as soon as my hardware comes out of my hand to go on my trip! So nice to have an understanding Doc on my side.

Sadly, your rheumatologist is correct. The whole person needs to be assessed! So happy for your good news!
