My son is 5 years old and has had SVT since birth. His episodes happen quite regularly. He is on atenolol and he does a headstand and his heart rate generally goes back down within seconds. If this doesn’t work he has a cold shower and the shock of that generally works. The hospital want him to go on flecinide but I am worried about the side effects. His SVT used to be related to exercise but now are happening more randomly so I am more inclined to try it. Anyone have experience of this drug?

My god daughter has the same and has been on flecanaide since 4nyears old, keeps her fairly stable. She will have an ablation or other interventionnwhen she is 12 or so.Otherwise she is well.
I’m 25 and suffered with SVT and ectopics since the age of 16.. I was put on flecanide after an admission to hospital after a bad run where I nearly passed out, originally just 50mg but was upped to 100mg and it really helped with my SVT.. not so much my ectopics but I saw a dramatic reduction in my SVT and I didn’t get side effects (other than they made my ectopics worse)
I had an ablation in March 2017 and haven’t had an SVT yet (touch wood)
