There has to be stuff out there.....
Hello All, I am an advocate of my father who has PSP. I have been reading everything that I have found in relation to PSP. He has done a couple of clinical trials. One with CoQ10 and one with TPI-287. Neither seemed to have much effect, but as you know its hard to tell because he has good days and

COLD SORES.
I am having a real run of cold sores. Is there anyone else out there having the same problem? How serious are cold sores? What should I be doing to help myself? I have been taking Lysine and have cream to put on them but not sure this is helping much. I'm sick of having unkissable lips!!!!!

Hopefully this will be accessible to everyone. An article about the fundamentals of pain and the dorsal horn of the brain, glycine, GABA,... http://www.theguardian.com/science/neurophilosophy/2015/mar/31/gatekeeper-cells-control-pain-and-itch

Worth Repeating
Statins have been mentioned on here before but the following statement from a member 11 months ago is worth repeating here: "Yes, I have a cholesterol problem but cannot touch any of the meds available. My RLS immediately worsens if I do. Have tried several of them. Fortunately my HDL/LDL relation is

Cold sores and Lysine supplements
Just wanted to share with you something I tried and worked to stop cold sores- to my surprise! At the beginning of the year I was pretty stressed and having one cold sore after the other (seriously). So I naturally stated looking for some sort of solution (anything!), I bought some pretty crappy equipment

Lysine/Herpes(Cold sores) and RA
I was wondering if anyone has tried Lysine supplements for their RA? I came across a website (search David W Gregg and Rheumatoid arthritis) in which he gives a theory that RA is somehow related to the herpes/cold sore virus and he gives details of patients who took lysine which made their symptoms better

Has anyone who has exercise induced AF used beta alanine pre-exercise and found it suppressed AF?
Everytime I exercise now I get AF and this was confirmed by the cardiac department BRUCE Protocol test when at stage 4 (13.5 METs) my heart rate jumped from 150 to 235 bpm (I'm 67). On the next two gym sessions (one resistance and one cardio) I took a pre-exercise drink of 2.5g beta alanine with about

Elevated cholesterol but no signs of inflammation?
I have closely followed all the debates about statins, and sugar vs. saturated fat, and am a believer that the pharmaceutical industry has vastly overplayed the benefits of statins. I have been on statins for the past eight years, but decided to give myself a break from them, and came off them for seven
