Iron Levels
Hi, Just a quick question if anyone is able to answer. I had some blood tests done a few weeks back at my GP Practice, thought everything was fine as didn't hear back with the results but was called this morning out of the blue. I have been advised that my iron levels are high and he may need to refer

MMA results - supplements or further test?
Can I ask for your advice please? I have Hashmito’s. Since learning that this can influence the absorption of nutrients, I have been to the doctor’s to request tests. Last B12 test: 229 ng/l (190-910) I used B12 symptoms checklist which suggests severe deficiency. Neither of this seemed to worry

B12 Injections/B12 Drops ?
I have had a number of neurogical symptoms for over a year so my GP agreed to my having EOD B12 injections for two weeks - my main improvements were instant, I was waking earlier 7am - (against 9am or later) and able to watch television without falling asleep in the evening - he then agreed to my having

Iron Infusions for RLS
Another research paper showing iron infusions of Ferric Carboxymaltose improves RLS. We now have the uphill battle of convincing our GPs and neurologists. If you are trying to persuade your medical team to follow the Mayo Clinic Algorithm and increase serum ferritin as first line treatment for RLS,

Book I just bought about Vitamin B12 Deficiency
In order to better prepare myself for my next visit with my GP, I bought the book "Vitamin B12 Deficiency in Clinical Practice" by Dr Joseph Chandy. My GP has been renewing my B-12 prescriptions for a few years and I self inject every 2 weeks. For some reason this year he tested my B-12 level and

Questions regarding my B12 case (IF, veganism, oral sublingual, and other blood results)
Hi all, My case seems to be a little murky. In 2018 I found out that I had very low B12. I was a vegetarian at that time and for the last 2 years have been vegan. Back in 2018, I began injections which brought my level very high very quickly. At that time I also took my first intrinsic factor test. It

letter from consultation
just had my letter from my meeting last week … still awaiting diagnosis but please I welcome your thoughts on this….. I note the serial blood counts that you kindly sent through from a number of different laboratories. These demonstrate a mild thrombocytosis, normal renal and liver function tests,

Iron. So confused.
Hi all, I'm going crazy with trying to understand what is going on with my iron levels right now. I recently got a NHS iron panel test that came back high - suggesting iron overload to which my GP panicked, but critically they missed off serum ferritin as there was a national reagent shortage. Following

Blood Tests for Children
Hi all Finally managed to get blood tests for my children but annoyingly, my daughter was not tested for all cofactors - just B12. Son is being tested tomorrow and I want to give him a list to give to the nurse, but I can’t remember all the cofactors. Not one off my best days today! B12 Vitamin

Postherpetic Neuralgia and B12
Not directly related to PA, but nonetheless of potential interest to those with PA as well as anyone with Postherpetic Neuralgia. (I currently have PHN and am taking methylcobalamin every day. Alongside capsaicin cream. Difficult to know if it is helping, but I think it is.) [i]

Stiff person's disease and pernicious anemia connection - Celine Dion
I was just watching a news piece on Celine Dion where she announces that she can't do her 2023 tour because she's been suffering for a very long time with Stiff Person's Disease. The symptoms that she was talking about had me wondering if it had something to do with autoimmune deficiencies. And this

Buprenorphine
I am writing this to highlight how miraculous Buprenorphine has been for me and many others on this site. My sleep app shows how good my sleep is. I had never heard of buprenorphine until Shumbah posted that it had resolved her severe, refractory RLS. No neurologist has ever mentioned it. Like Shumbah

Hello and any advice for withdrawal?
I've been an RLS sufferer since I was 13 and I'm now 56. I've done all the good lifestyle stuff and nothing much helps. After 14 years in clinic with Professor Chaudhuri, told at every 6m appointment there have been no breakthroughs or new developments, have learned about iron infusion. I have requested
