I know some of you are much more knowledgable than me on this. Any comments gratefully received.

Are you under the care of a Haematologist?
Was the test taken quite soon after consuming iron tablets or read meat/liver?
You can cause false highs depending on what was consumed.
No. Just checking for thyroid health. I do eat liver once a week as I try and keep my ferritin levels up....
SeasideSusie I’d be grateful if you have any thoughts on this result please. x

Optimal levels according to rt3-adrenals.org/Iron_test_... are:
Serum iron: 55 to 70% of the range, higher end for men - yours is over range so you shouldn't supplement with iron.
Saturation: optimal is 35 to 45%, higher end for men - yours is 42% so within that range although maybe just a bit higher than optimal for a female.
Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) or Transferrin: Low in range indicates lack of capacity for additional iron, High in range indicates body's need for supplemental iron - yours is 72% through range and with your serum iron and saturation one would have expected to see that lower
Ferritin: Low level virtually always indicates need for iron supplementation - yours is lower than the recommended amount but not everyone can get their ferritin up without serum iron going too high.
As you can see you have conflicting results, this is where iron becomes complicated. You obviously shouldn't take iron tablets to raise your ferritin level but apart from that I'm afraid I'm not in a position to suggest anything else.
It might be worth you taking a look a this post written by Humanbean and see if you can draw anything from it
