Antibiotics

Hi all, my cycle started on 22nd Jan and on day two I started taking my progynova ready for a frozen transfer. I had a gp appt on 31st and was prescribed amoxicillin for some horrible phlegm that ive not been able to shift for months and was hoping I could get these in before transfer which is likely around 10th Feb. I started the antibiotics Friday and am now really worrying that these have impacted the progynova which are to prevent ovulation. I thought they wouldn't impact the cycle and started taking them but now I can't stop worrying whether I've messed this cycle up. Would anyone know please?

I don't have nurses and it's Sunday and my FS doesn't work Sundays and would really appreciate if anyone has been through this commenting.

My doctors puts me on antibiotics before every transfer, this round had to take tamiflu as well. better to not be sick transfer day. let your specialist know about the amoxicillin when you can reach them and continue to get well. good luck with your transfer : )

Ji.its quite safe to to take amoxicillin if you’re ok with penicillin. It’s been around for a long time and should have no adverse effect on your cycle or pregnancy. All the best. Diane

perhaps get some probiotics. I had antibiotics for pneumonia and when I had a biopsy it showed I had no good bacteria left in my uterus which they blamed on those antibiotics. If you read up on the microbiom you’ll see that good bacteria is essential. Lots of people take antibiotics before transfers but they also counter balance this with probiotics to follow- vaginal ones preferably x
