A case of cellulitis?

I saw my GP as the nurses from Arthur Rank Hospice were busy so was told that I don’t need to take antibiotics but I was given anyway if the condition gets worse.

I wonder when people with Lymphoedema in one’s arm take antibiotics each time there are pink spots on their arm.

Hi Rebec I’m on permanent antibiotics as I was always getting cellulitis in the arm , they do help and Idon’t get it so often now , usually you feel very unwell when you get it hot cold flu like symptoms and my arm turns red and hot to feel and touch. Sometimes it starts with a couple of spots but other times I get small spots and they are nothing to do with it , hope this helps

Thank you for telling me about you. About two years ago I had a bad case of cellulitis and was hospitalised. My GP told me that she didn’t think I had cellulitis this time but if I did develop one it would have been because I stupidly did some gardening without protecting my hand by wearing gardening gloves!

Rebec,

That wasn’t a very nice thing for your doctor to say to you, gardening without gloves is good for the soul.😊
