Every once in a while (24/7) my brain takes a dive into black humor. I know this type of humor isn’t for everyone, but hopefully the rest of you will find a chuckle or two to brighten the day. [u]

Curcumin (Theracurmin) Improves Mild Cognitive Impairment and Memory - A Randomized Clinical Trial
This is a remarkable study of the effects of a highly bioavailable form of Curcumin, "Theracurmin", on memory in non-demented aging adults, including those diagnosed with MCI, Mild Cognitive Impairment. What we call "Chemo-Brain" is a form of MCI resulting from cancer treatments including chemotherapy

Is anyone currently doing TRT or BAT?
I was dx'd stage 4, G8 in 2018, at age 49, after 44 EBRT sessions and one year of ADT/lupron, I rejected any further ADT after experiencing horrible, life altering side effects and learning about it's actual efficacy. My PSA kept rising ever so slightly, so I pushed for a PSMA PET scan for two years

Portugese doctors' use of T4 and T3 therapy
A look now at Portugese doctors' treatment of hypothyroidism. They are much less likely to prescribe combination therapy, but many would consider it if the patient did not improve on T4 only. They aren't interested in the source of T4.

Continuing Lupron
On July 17, 2022, my last ADT vacation was ended due to some progression of metastatic lymph node cancer in CT scan at a PSA of 1.1. My MO put me back on Lupron for six months hoping that PSA would drop to undetectable by the end of the six months. A month of Casodex 50 mg before the a Lupron shot brought

PSMA results 6 weeks post RALP; one peri-anal lymph node
My husbands PSA was . 5 at 6 weeks post RALP. It was a huge kick in the teeth. Today we got his PSMA results which I am hoping is optimistic since only one lymph node in the peri-rectal area lit up, no distant metastasis. Can you give me any ideas of what his next treatment might consist of. Is

Is the a standard/preferred course of treatment for mixed ductal PC (post- RALP, post recurrence in prostate bed, post radiation)?
Gleason 8, 3 mos post-prostatectomy PSMA showed spot in prostate bed, just finished radiation of pelvic bed, in month 4 of Lupron (2 years planned). No evidence of spread outside prostate bed; recent psa was 0.4 Oncologist is a swell guy, but I don’t sense he has a great depth of experience with ductal

Enzaludimide or Abiraterone
I am on ADT plus abi for the last 4.5 years. Getting to where I should start thinking about when it stops working. I have been looking into BAT. Seems that works better with Enza as opposed to Abi. I am going to discuss with my MO but do you think I should change now as opposed to too late?

Doctor makes it seem like I want to have surgery and not like I actually need it
After struggling with severe constant daily pain for a year and a half, a gynaecologist has decided to put me on a waiting list for surgery. I didn't go see him requesting to be put on a list, but he thought it'd be a good idea because hormonal treatment hasn't worked, and painkillers don't help. However

Why we add an AART drug to ADT?
In response to a post asking if adding enzalutamide to ADT is beneficial: Xtandi would increase T levels if not simultaneously using an LHRH ADT. It blocks AR in hypothalamus leading to perception of deficit and increased LH and testicular testosterone. So enzalutamide or apalutamide used without ADT

Post RT decisions on ADT and relative risk benefit
apologies for long ramble again … Next month I discuss how long to stay on HT (zoladex) after RT last December. I can feel like dealing with some multi headed hydra trying to balance risks/benefits especially as I have G9 (albeit maybe locally contained) and my personal comorbidities. As I reflect
