Update and Question: Issues with HealthUnlocked emails going to Junk Mail

Hi Everyone

i wanted to post an update about my situation and ask a question.

i finished 28 sessions of IMRT on 1/24 and feel great except for the side effects of ADT. My last PSA in January was 0.2 (down from 34 when I started treatment last May 2022). Next PSA is next week so I’m getting the usual anxiety.

My question: I use an iOS based phone and Microsoft Outlook on multiple devices. HealthUnlocked is the only safe email where it always gets sent to spam. I’ve checked every setting and unblocked the domain, sender, etc. Nothing works. Anyone else found a solution?

I also wanted to extend a thank you to everyone but especially Tall_Allen . In the last year since I was diagnosed, I’ve had a lot of shitty medical experiences and some very dark times. Your advice and support made a huge difference for which I’ll always be grateful.

Bob

My pleasure. I hope you make a difference in the way Kaiser handles patients. Changing their corporate culture won't happen overnight, but the presentation you put together may have long-term impact (I hope!). At any rate, you're a model of what an empowered patient can accomplish.

Let us know what happens to your PSA.

Do a lot of reading (in case you need to hear this) of PCa trials. LATITUDE and STAMPEDE are musts. Throw in PEACE-1 to boot. And the next time you meet with your MO, feel free to refer to them and NCCN guidelines from your written notes. A good MO should be familiar with them, but by your being aware of them you are speaking to the MO in their language and they are less likely to dismiss your concerns on the basis that you are yet another old timer. And it will save your precious time and the doctor's equally precious time.

Who is your email provider (e.g., gmail, yahoo,...). I know gmail and some other email providers allow you to set up rules or filters to declare that mail from certain addresses should never be sent to the spam folder.

hi Bob

Happy to hear you are doing well in your treatment, and best wishes for the lowest PSA. My MO insists on regular scans also (every 3 months). She says the PSA test only is part of the whole picture.

As for your emails going to spam. Add the healthunlocked email address to your address book and it should be fine from there

Best of luck! Tracey
