Salvage Radiation Repost
I'm reposting this bc earlier post had a crucial typo and I left out some important info. Corrected/updated post is below with changes bolded. I really appreciate all the thoughtful replies I've received so far. I had robot RP 2/2022. Gleason 7.

BATMAN
Yesterday, when I complained of the apparent lack of interest in using BAT to prevent CRPC, I should have briefly mentioned the old BATMAN study (2016). Although BATMAN involved hormone-sensitive men, there was no castration phase. Therefore, the BATMAN protocol was not designed to prevent CRPC.

Salvage Radiation Question
I had robot RP 2/2022. Gleason 7. In October, PSA was 0.06, on 12/28/22 it was 1.0. I saw two ROs. One said there was no surgical benefit to radiation before 2.0. The other said it’s better to do it now as there’s a good chance of avoiding hormone therapy later. To me, it seems like my doubling time

Ouch! Santa only left me lumps of coal. Still digesting my latest DX and any input would be welcome.
At my wellness checkup, the first thing my PCP said was that I looked pale then told me I was anemic and my blood numbers were mostly bad. Off to the hematologist and was told I also had hemochromatosis (too much iron) and need to do a bone marrow biopsy. Knew this wasn't just to fill a square and

Michael T Schweizer & BAT [Bipolar Androgen Therapy
I was looking at BAT-related studies involving Dr. Schweizer. The first was as lead author for Denmeade (2015). Most BAT research has been performed on men with CRPC [Castrate-Resistant Prostate Cancer]. The U.S. statistics for 2022 were 268,490 new cases, with 34,500 deaths. The deaths being largely

BIOCHEMICAL RECURRENCE -NOW WHAT?
I was Gleason 5+4 with PSA of 253 in May 2019. PSMA Pet CT showed tumour in the prostrate, seminal vesicles and MRI showed one ECE. Started ADT in Jun 19 and continued for 30 months. Had RT (IMAT) in Oct to Dec 2019. PSA came down to 0.04 by Jun 2020. Then from Sep 2021 PSA started increasing slowly.

Radiation a second time? Recurrent PC
I recently had a PSMA scan done that showed my recurrence is in the prostate and three Iliac nodes ( none enlarged). I had IMRT done 17 years ago, my question is anyone familiar with doing a targeted course of radiation a second time? I will be doing Provenge after the first of the year then researching

Can I ask what to expect during the initial hormone therapy + five to eight weeks of radiation?
Hi All, My father has just completed two weeks of radiation and I thought he was handling it very well but today seemed to be a really bad day. It has me a bit shaken up as it seemed to have come out of no where. Wondering if these symptoms are normal and how much worse we can expect this to get. Along

The Thymus & ADT
New paper below [1]. The thymus has an important immunological role during childhood, but strangely, shrivels up at puberty. A PubMed search of gives 1,753 hits, going back 100 years. Many years ago, I discovered that castration could cause the thymus to regenerate. I wondered what that meant for

TO TAKE OR NOT TAKE ORGYVYX HORMONE WITH CARDIAC PROBLEMS.
I am scheduled for SBRT on 1/12/ 23 at UCLA.
They are recommending 4 months of ORGYVYX/Regulix.(ADT HORMONE) (I have Afib , and other CARDIAC comorbidities. ...)
The Decision whether to take the 4 months of hormones is driving me nuts! (analysis/paralysis) . I am concerned that if I don't

No SOC treatment. Metastatic lymph nodes by PSMA-PET. Rising PSA. Bone/CT scans neg. Waiting to die.
The title may seem over-dramatic. It does, however, present the present state of my PCa. I have written more than once about being Lupron ADT sensitive but stopped after first shot due to severe intolerable increase in depression. I am not eligible (SOC) for other therapies because they all require

End of treatment and worried
Good morning . I have been a member since 2020 , but I read more than I write. However, I would like some feedback on my situation. First a review: I had requested a PSA test from my GP for several years. His response after a non remarkable DRE was that PSA tests were useful if he felt any abnormalities

Should I start ADT ?
I was diagnosed with Pca in 2012 (age 52) with PSA 5.4. RP in July 2012 with G9, pT3b. After prostate bed radiation (Sep-Oct 2012), my PSA decreased to undetectable (<0.008) until 2018. From 2018 to July 2020, PSA was below 0.1. In the past 2 years, my PSA gradually increased to 0.4 in July 2022.

IMRT CONDENSED -4 Months ADT VS SBRT -4 Months ADT
The finding of the ECE after review by MSK increased my cancer to higher risk by my RO's. They are split , one recommending IMRT with 4 months rather than SBRT alone. The other recommending SBRT with 4 months ADT.
RO says their is more long term data with IMRT Condensed (20 treatments)
