Can't metabolize Coumadin (Warfarin). Anyone else have this same issue?
While on Coumadin at a fairly high INR level I got a huge clot in my abdomen. I was told that I don't metabolize Coumadin (Warfarin). I am now taking an Imitrex injection daily to thin my blood. Problem is my injections were donated to me by the company and I only have about 1 1/2 months left. I

Warfarin vs Heparin/Fragmin 10,000 units
Hi Everyone, Really hoping someone can help. I was started on Fragmin for a trial to see if symptoms improved. They have, I would say around 30 percent but was hoping for more. In the 4 weeks that I have been taking it, I have had 2 pretty bad headaches and that was the one thing I thought would definitely

Anyone have Psoriasis ?
I think I am having a flare of psoriasis on my scalp. Several years ago I was having issues with what I thought was bad dandruff and my doctor at the time prescribed a liquid which I think was a steroid concoction. I had it in the cabinet for years and would use occasionally on back of head if I thought

Was I always so silly? My coconut crispie cake disaster! Just a laugh....
I read recently on the site the benefits of Virgin Coconut Oil, so got some delivered with my shopping order. I don't like it out the jar - so thought about making some coconut crispie cakes..... I rummaged the back of the kitchen cupboards and found some dessicated coconut, a little cooking chocolate

How do you stop a baby hurting themselves?
John's given himself a black eye! We keep his nails short as he used to scratch them, but lately he's been rubbing them badly in his sleep and hitting himself. This morning that's culminated in waking up to him having a black eye. We are at a loss on how to stop him without literally watching him every

Hair loss ? Pbc or urso?
I was diagnosed with pbc three years ago - I'm at quite an advanced stage of the disease but not quite ready for a transplant and I have been taking urso for a year and a half . All of a sudden since September this year I've had horrendous hair loss- my consultant said he didn't know what could be causing

Starting heparin and warfarin tomorrow - what can I expect?
After a stroke 8 years ago and several years of feeling increasingly I'll I've finally had SLE with secondary APS and Reynaulds confirmed. Bloods done in June and repeated in September showed increasing evidence. Finally got to see a haematologist last Friday (still waiting for appt at St Thomas') and

Are my swollen, red, puffy eyes a symptom of autoimmune hepatitis?
Hi all. I was seen by a gastroenterologist in July following a 'hepatic episode' of deranged LFT's, mild jaundice and a significantly positive ANA. This episode had settled by the time i was seen but the consultant said she was almost certain that this was an indicator of autoimmune hepatitis. She did

Hello, minor breakthrough today.
Amazing just finished eating, cleared things away, did a few jobs and then realised that I hadn't thought of a cigarette just before I finished eating and immediately after! Is the worm turning a bit at last I wonder? Lets hope so. Back to odd dreams again though as you all warned! Thursday night train

I am going to have 2 weeks intensive leg bandaging in hospital but they want me to have restricted fluids and take diuretics.
Everything I have read about taking water tablets to reduce fluid retention in lymphoedema patients says it doesn't work and it could even make things worse. I would be grateful if anyone could let me know if this will be safe for me, and if there is a LSN 'policy' or some guidance notes on this issue

Strain Reviews: Indica and Indica Dominant Cannabis for Sleep Aid and Pain Relief
Working at a medical marijuana dispensary in Denver has allowed me to see a wide variety of people, who all use cannabis for different reasons. One of the most common things patients tend to look for is a strain or two that will help them to sleep at night, either because of chronic pain or insomnia.
