Blame it on the weather
I am interested to know why people blame the weather when for example I end up having funny turns especially at work. It has now happened to me twice in work more recently as a few days ago where I was advised by the first aid /nurse to go to the hospital as a precaution after telling them my medical

Can you still drive if diagnosed with auto immune hepatitis?
Can anyone advise if you are permitted to drive if you have been diagnosed with auto immune hepatitis? I have had a provisional drivers licence prior to diagnosis. My consultant did not mention anything about is to me but the DVLA have said I need to complete a medical questionnaire and I am now concerned

Anyone not on any treatment?
I was diagnosed with Hughes after my miscarriages and have just had a successful pregnancies on 5000 units of fragmin and 150mg aspirin. Post partum I was on 5000 units fragmin for 6 weeks. I have been to the haematologist and they have said that as I have no other symptoms and no history of blood clots

Chesterfield Half Marathon:Done
Not quite in the style I envisioned but I did it and I'm happy. Now for the excuses :-) My 12 week training plan (BUPA finishing with race day) went pear-shaped at week 4 with a virus that took 3 weeks out of my training and then the last two weeks didn't really happen either. I did manage a 12mile

Warfarin Alternatives
I'm currently on warfarin but in the very early stages of considering one of the alternatives. My first question arises from the fact that dabigatran is taken twice a day, apixaban twice a day but, as I understand it, rivaroxaban is only once a day? Given that 'once a day' is surely more convenient

Out on my own
Hi everyone sorry not been on in a while but so much has happened over the last few months. I have just come to realise that I am out on my own with this. I have AIH/PBC overlap and it is now over a year since I saw a consultant. My consultant left the NHS to go back to Australia and it seems that either

Conflicting GP advice
I had a few clots 20+years ago , was diagnosed as having APS on warfarin for 5+ years. Then consistently tested negative for all clotting disorders. I came off warfarin and was just on Aspirin no problems for years. Have felt a bit 'off colour' for a few months and at the beginning of July discovered

Lung function tests?
I have stage 1 very mild bullous emphysema, I had a lung volume test in 2012 and 2013 should I have one every year, I had a ct scan back in 2011 and nothing since. After my 2013 lung volume test doc said I was caught very early and since I have a good fev of 79% to 81% there was no need for follow ups

Protein s deficiency
Hi Was diagnosed with DVT and been on Heparin (now off) and Warfarin for nearly two months out of a three month treatment time. There was no obvious reason for the DVT and all the main factors were ruled out and I'm an active 36 yr old. My GP sent me for a lot of blood tests and I believe they took about

AIH - Drug Free Remission
Just been to see liver consultant. (I have AIH/PBC Overlap Syndrome - Diagnosed 2011). Currently on 100mg of Aza for the AIH and he's going to try and wean me off 25mg at a time every 6 months to see if I can stay in remission. 40% chance of success so let's hope I'm in the minority for something positive
