Fatty liver disease the silent epidemic
Your diet and exercise regimen has a tremendous impact on your health. Lack of a healthy diet and exercise increases risk for fatty liver disease. There are two types of fatty liver disease nonalcoholic fatty liver and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Of the two, NASH is more serious and may result

Inflammatory Bowel Disease and liver health
Early diagnosis and treatment is important to prevent non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Individuals with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) may have an increased risk for NAFLD. Get tested to reduce the risk.

Fatty Liver
Hi, I've been told a while back by my doctor that I had a fatty liver. My history is I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and consequently started a course of Chemo. I think my fatty liver started from there but can't be sure. My doctor does regular blood checks and I made an appointment a couple

Diet change.
I went to see my specialist nurse the other day. She's lovely and we get on really well, the trouble is we end up talking about irrelevant things. So this time I made a concerted effort to ask something useful. Which was if I had a fatty liver or not. The answer to which was yes. I had already cut right

Dental extraction on steriogs
Hi everyone I am very frustrated today. I was given an appointment with the Implantologist today which was the second visit to an expensive private practice in Cardiff involving a sixty mile round trip only to be told he couldn't do it as I was on 10mgms of steroids. I told them I was on steroids when

Cataracts
Hi I have developed cataracts through long term use of steroids. This week I had a letter saying that my cataract surgery had been refused funding and that I can't have them removed. Has anyone else been through anything similar?

Medicines to b avoided with Ibnutrib
Got following feedback on various medicine which shouldn't be taken with Ibnutrib: This website gives various interactions associated with ibrutinib. Alcohol avoidance is also recommended. Very importantly, things like Seville orange or grapefruit juice is a no-go. http://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements

Newbie - does grid warp always mean Wet AMD?
Hi everyone. Just like the last post, this Tuesday I was told I had MD too. I don't think I was fully processing at the time as I was at clinic to find out if I should get my double lens replacement op done for my cataracts (at the ripe old age of 46..). I'd never heard of the condition before and

Recent diagnosis of Fatty Liver
While being checked for something else, I have just recently been diagnosed (from an ultrasound) with having a fatty liver. I have been a heavy social drinker (one or two cocktails and then red wine with dinner) almost every evening. I never got drunk so maybe I just have always had a high tolerance

Pain!
I had a bit of a fall off the old wagon last weekend celebrating a family birthday and then the match the following day. Thought I'd be fine seeing as I'd felt great and hadn't had any beers since the Festive period. Wrong! Since yesterday I've had discomfort on my right-side and felt nauseous at times

What It's Like to Be in a Lung Cancer Clinical Trial - Part Two, The Clovis Pharmaceuticals Phase II Trial for CO-1686
In February 2015 I found myself sitting by myself in a car in a parking lot, summoning the courage to read the CT scan report I had just picked up to take to my oncologist. This scan marked the six month mark in my first line treatment with Tarceva. As I read the news that my cancer was starting to grow

What questions should I ask?
My husband is 64 and an alcoholic who was diagnosed last year with cirrhosis. We have been living apart for over a year now but I still do what I can to support him. My husband now lives in Scotland whilst I am in London. During the 12 months we have been apart he has been in and out of hospital several

I miss my dad so much😓
Its been near 7 months, since I lost my dad from hepatic encephalopathy stage 4. What I seen on that final day still haunts me, i cant seem to get by it at all. Decomponsated Liver cirrohsis, is a very cruel condition. Once it progessed, day by day, my dad just started to waist away, infront of my eyes
