I seperated from my kids' mum 2 years ago and since then have been leading a better lifestyle (much happier) and rarely drink, although I do have a terrible ready meal based

Variceal bleed
Last week wasn't fun. I had recently read the book by The Reverend Richard Coles "The Madness of Grief"- most unwise and I don't recommend it. His husband died from chronic alcoholism and a bleed. On Wednesday I started throwing up a lot of blood. Was on my own, terrified and convinced I was dying, called

Steroids and cataracts
I had an eye test last week and was told I have developed steroid
related
cataracts
(as opposed to
age
related
). Something to get checked out for those with blurry vision. The optician also suggested a slight tint for my lenses to help with the extra light sensitivity they cause.

Ultrasound Result after Elevated ALP
I got my US result this morning and it states that Liver is slightly echogenic possibly due to fatty infiltration. My family doctor thinks it is a fatty liver but I should get a second opinion from specialist. I have scheduled an appointment with gastro on August 24th which is the earliest they have.

Hubby update, saw Hepatology Registrar
Hubby was very shocked at what she said. Hubby had a CT scan recently, it shows the lymph nodes in his lungs are stable, they are about 12mm in size. His liver is still Decompensated. She told hubby that his condition is very serious. She said that if he does not stop drinking, then he probably has
