Hi Richard,
Epsom salts, olive oil and grapefruit juice will not magically help your liver neutralise toxins any faster than usual, and it will not help your gallbladder secrete bile any better. It also will not help the bile emulsify fat any quicker. Drinking plenty of water can help you flush out already neutralised toxins more efficiently, BUT nothing you eat or drink can make your liver work any faster than it already does. The best thing any of us can do, is support our livers with a healthy, liver friendly lifestyle. The liver will do the rest.
Drinking epsom salts, (which are a natural combination of magnesium and sulfate) will not forcibly cleanse your liver, your gallbladder or anything else if you ingest it. What it will do is act like a laxative. In small quantities this can be fine as more water is drawn into the bowel. In larger amounts it is an irritant and can dehydrate you and possibly mess with your electrolytes. Also if your kidneys struggle to remove the excess magnesium you can become seriously ill.

cheers Crisw740 - i will drink more water .
You're welcome. It really is the case that your liver will do everything it can to heal itself if you follow a healthy diet that's right for you. It can be a slow process and obviously not everyone is the same but gently does it works. Of course any new symptoms you experience should be mentioned to your Dr.
Best
Chris
Thanks to Chris for such an informative reply.
Epsom salts will not flush out your liver and gallbladder and could be potentially medically harmful to take.
If you have a fatty liver and scarring please only take medical advice from your own doctors.
