Just to say that I had my cataract surgery on Wednesday and all went well!! Thank you for all your reassurances and good wishes that I received when I posted a few weeks ago saying ‘That I was terrified!’ I had a wonderful team looking after me in hospice and their expertise, kindness and reassurance put me at ease
Thank you once again to all my forum friends! You are wonderful!!x

Thanks Lynne - consultant hopes to do first one early in June. The NHS list here in NI has grown from a 3 year wait for first consultation before COVID to 4 or 5 years now - couldn't cope with that so I have gone down the private route.
Hi Finvola A 4 to 5 year waiting list is truly appalling! I count myself lucky as I have only waited 2 and a half years with Covid taking up all of last year!
Mcquire. Mine was in the same time frame as well . Before surgery I never needed Prescription glasses for anything but after surgery found I needed them to read. NOW 3 years later my reading ability has corrected itself and I'm back to no prescription specs at all. Its a wonderfull operation to have and I feel very privileged to have had it done. .
My wife always says that the worst part of most operatins or procedures are the worry before hand. Once it is all over and is usually not as bad as you thought. the hardest part is usually the recovery treatment and exercises etc but it's all on the up now so Good Luck!
