Just to say that I had my cataract surgery on Wednesday and all went well!! Thank you for all your reassurances and good wishes that I received when I posted a few weeks ago saying ‘That I was terrified!’ I had a wonderful team looking after me in hospice and their expertise, kindness and reassurance put me at ease

Thank you once again to all my forum friends! You are wonderful!!x

Regards Lynne

It's great that you had such a positive experience Lynne - I saw my consultant yesterday to get my ops which were postponed because of COVID.

Enjoy your new eyesight!

Hi Finvola , So sorry to hear that your operations were postponed.

I hope that you’ll be seen to soon. They seem to be moving things along here in South Wales quite quickly.

Wishing you well. Lynne

Thanks Lynne - consultant hopes to do first one early in June. The NHS list here in NI has grown from a 3 year wait for first consultation before COVID to 4 or 5 years now - couldn't cope with that so I have gone down the private route.

Hi Finvola A 4 to 5 year waiting list is truly appalling! I count myself lucky as I have only waited 2 and a half years with Covid taking up all of last year!

All the best for your operation.

Please let me know how you get on. Lynne x

Glad it went well for you. I found it amazing that I could see every individual leaf on a tree, rather than a blur.

Hi Nerja Although it’s onl y been a few days I’m amazed! Seeing everything and everyone so clearly, and colours so vivid and fresh!

The surgeon who did mine has booked me in to have my other eye done in about 6 weeks.

I’m so lucky!

Mcquire. Mine was in the same time frame as well . Before surgery I never needed Prescription glasses for anything but after surgery found I needed them to read. NOW 3 years later my reading ability has corrected itself and I'm back to no prescription specs at all. Its a wonderfull operation to have and I feel very privileged to have had it done. .

My wife always says that the worst part of most operatins or procedures are the worry before hand. Once it is all over and is usually not as bad as you thought. the hardest part is usually the recovery treatment and exercises etc but it's all on the up now so Good Luck!

mrgwair567 in reply toDesanthony

Hi DesanthonyI agree with your wife about the worry before hand !

It’s the fear of the unknown!

Thankfully the procedure was carried out expertly and proved that there was ‘’Really nothing to worry about’’

and the result is truly amazing!

Thanks for your good wishes!
