PSA down but mets increasing?
I've been on
ADT
+ Xtandi for about a year (see my Bio for details) and my PSA has been slowly and steadily reducing over that time - now down to 0.05.

Maddening Contradictory Advice
Latest update on my still hormone sensitive lymph nodes-only but widespread metastatic cancer is the Dexa scan showing I now have Osteopenia (no doubt occasioned by
ADT
regimen and lack of Testosterone).

Another Cialis Question
Anyway, since there’s still a ways to go on this
ADT
journey, I wanted to see if he should be back on Cialis again.

testosterone boosters after ADT?
I finished SBRT in September and a six month course of
ADT
in March. I asked my endocrinologist about zinc and Vitamin D to aid T recovery, and he said it probably wouldn’t help, but won’t hurt anything. I saw some “testosterone support” from Wieder at the store and am considering it.

RP + Radiation Question
Based on my age, be aggressive as possible and eliminate as much as the PC as possible via RP+
ADT
+RAD, or 2.) Based on my age, the additive side effects of RP+
ADT
+RAD may take quite a toll/ quality of life impact on someone who has "lots of years ahead".

Asking for best guess info
I've also read that losing muscle mass contributes to kidney problems so
ADT
seems contributory as well. Doctors won't commit to saying what it all means, but coupled with the fact that the MO said in January that w/o treatment his prognosis would be about a year.....what can we expect?

He has a doctor appointment with the oncologist this week and my father told me they are planning on discontinuing
ADT
and will monitor his PSA every 3 months.

Any Curative Treatments after RT as Sole Primary Treatment?
(See Bio-not even any
ADT
). PSMA-PET is clear currently, so no target for radiation. PSA has been rising, but not officially nadir plus 2, but the old 3 rises in a row has been reached.

Tests in regard to treatment
Hi Folks, After RP ~6 months ago with persistent PSA > .15, I've begun
ADT
using Orgovyx, and salvage pelvic RT. When should I expect that my RO will order testing, and for what? For example blood tests for PSA & testosterone.

Issue with pain
January 2023 started
ADT
(Zoladex) June 2023 went to MO with severe pain in his lower back and lumbar area, and started Chemo (Docetaxel). He just finished his 2nd cycle of Chemo few days ago. The biggest issue is a severe never-ending pain all around his lower back.. Can IMRT radiation help?

Oar Gel and gold placements for beginners on this journey
I have 9 weeks of RT prescribed with 9 months of
ADT
. I have been adamant about not screwing up my rectum, since I am an educator that still works. So I just completed the gold insertions and the barragel placement.

ADT before and after IMRT
Worked till 2022 when PSMA scan showed lymph nodes, started Zytiga in November 2022 , started with 44 Tomotherapy/IMRT in Feb 2023, My question is how long after all this radiation does he need to continue
ADT
he’s been on it for 4 1/2 years prior to radiation?

Side effects experienced once you add Zytiga to Orgovyx
( especially if it was added after
ADT
) Of course I understand that everyone is different in their experiences....but would be helpful to hear how you managed with both treatments. Thanks !

Do you try to keep your diagnosis private?
She almost lost me but I have returned to vigor and preparing for this journey through radiation and
ADT
next month. However, because I still work and am at a point where my business may be acquired, I do not wish to share my diagnosis publicly and to keep it to myself.

experience with ADT, specifically Casodex followed by Eligard shots?
Hi there, Met with RO and have been doing a ton of reading. To be honest, it can be a bit overwhelming the options/drugs out there. The RO is recommending a 30 day treatment of Casodex hormone therapy concurrent with PET scan scheduling, followed by injections every 4 months of Eligard for 2 years or

Testosterone post ADT
My t level is coming back very slowly following salvage radiation + 6 months
ADT
. I’m 60 years old and after nearly 18 months still have difficulty gaining muscle mass and losing this gut. The good news is my PSA is still undetectable. Any suggestions?

Low Testosterone Linked With Mortality Risk in Aging Men - by Jeff Minerd , Contributing Writer, MedPage Today May 13, 2024
No way to know if this is applicable to those on
ADT
, but it would seem to be relevant for consideration. The highlighted portion is a useful guide on male sex hormone targets for those testing them. These results might also add support for Morgentaler's "Saturation Model" for testosterone.

Darolutimide as monotherapy
Since it doesn't actually stop testosterone production but instead just acts as an androgen receptor blocker in cancer cells, perhaps it would have fewer side effects and still act to put to sleep/kill the cancer cells the way traditional
ADT
does.
