Greetings from a fellow British Columbian. Two things. First, a PSA of 38 requires some imaging. The Nuclear Bone Scan and the CT scan you mention should indicate to your medical oncologist (MO) what the problem is. Prostate cancer is very difficult to see so having a PET scan would be even more precise. Second, if this is your husband's first PSA and Testosterone test in nine months, then he needs to be tested more frequently. Insist on it. For example, I have my PSA and Testosterone tested once a month. Finally, talk to your MO about Clinical Trials. The British Columbia Cancer Agency (BCCA) under the direction of Doctor Kim Chi is on the cutting edge of many new therapies including Lutetium. The care I get from the BCCA is truly outstanding and they watch me like a hawk! 🦅 Hope that helps!
Oh he has 3 monthly psa results, bone scan just done and ct scan the end of this month. Dr Bernie Eigle is top notch we believe. Thanks for your imput and assurance on BCCA much appreciated.
Sadly, I think that's the definition of castrate resistance -- rising PSA despite zero testosterone. I'll leave it to those more expert than me to talk about next steps, and just wish you both the best of luck!
