My husband is going into year 7 with PC. He had prostate removed… at Mayo in 2017. All clear margins, contained etc.

6 months he had Biochemical Recurrence. Then radiation and cryptography on one node. Since then he has been intermittently on ADT until he because Castrate resistant about a year ago. He is now on a clinical trial with NUBEQA plus Lupron. It brought his PSA from 14 to 4.5 and it is just setting around there for about 3 months. He just had a PSMA scan, a CT scan and an MRI all of which were NED.

He is 71 and has had a 47 year Healthcare Exec career and just the beginning of 2023 he began his second career… 😳… as the Dean of the Business School at a local college here in Dallas.

He pretty much feels like “crap” most days but yet he soldiers on playing Pickleball 3 times per week and cycles once or twice per week.

He takes ADDERALL everyday or he could not function!

About 3 months into NUBEQA his Mental state has gotten progressively worse. He simply has difficulty expressing himself and is very forgetful! He is sooo frustrated… He has always been so sharp mentally and his employees would refer to him as a machine…🤣…. Because he could accomplish so much more with laser focus etc!

My question is… Is there anything that anyone does in addition to good nutrition and exercise that helps with the cognitive issues???

He has the CDK12 mutation …😩… and many drugs that are affective for some are not for this type.

Thank you for any advice!!

Do you have any mutations such as CDK12?

Also, along with BAT are you taking any other drugs such as Immunotherapy drugs?

Thanks so much!!!

No mutations. That was checked at Dana Farber. Lupron 3 month shots, so my body produces very little Testosterone on its own.

my wife and I play UNO for a couple of hours , mornings usually, when I’m struggling to regain my whereabouts , or I’m so trashed that “ any “ active diversion is helpful to regain my mental acuity. We also have “ casino slot tournaments “ where we use our iPads side by side to see who can get the highest payout score after one of us has busted once or twice. Nowadays, on the “ hub “ casino games site ( among others ) you can play “ all “ the popular casino slots with the “ exact same “ algorithms as in the “ in casino “ games, which makes them much more interesting to play.

Having “ casino night “ some evenings is fun too … some snacks … cannabis gummies and / booze …… and playing the “ real “ casino games is competition for a real casino visit but the money you are losing is the casino’s and not ours. Web casinos , free play, can start you off with from $1000 to $100,000 in free play money.
