ART ADT n Life Without Testosterone for Prostate Cancer Patients
In summary, I was not told of the sexual side effects of long-term
ADT
. Until this podcast I had no idea many of the side effects start 1 month after taking
ADT
! Its amazing to find that
ADT
alone has more impact on sexual function than radiation treatment without
ADT
!

He has to be on
Adt
for 24 months so I’m planning to ask the oncologist why he is choosing lupron for the future injections.

I have been on
ADT
after radical Prostatectomy for over 14 months and to date aside from the sexual libido loss I have had very little side effects. I have always been a health / exercise buff & continue to exercise everyday to maintain my mental & physical health and so far very good results.

Dental Issues with Finesteride
I've been off
ADT
all this time. PSA has been slowly rising and hit 2.8. My urologist put me on finesteride. It prevents the conversion of T to DHT. Five weeks after starting on it I experienced an onslaught of dental problems. Very sensitive teeth both top and bottom on left side.

radiation or no radiation
Based on quick rise and pathology Dr Yajnik recommends PSMA F18 scan and MRI for baseline only since there is a 95% chance nothing will show and start next week with
ADT
(6 months) and follow up with radiation 39 sessions in March/April.

PSA vs Testosterone plot has large scatter, but still confirms Morgentaler's Saturation Model.
This is an important result for
castrate-resistant
men who want to supplement their T level (for example, from 200 to 1000+ ng/dL) after completing their
ADT
treatment cycle.

Proton Therapy timeline question
What period of time elapsed after you began
ADT
and had the simulation? And then, how long after that did the actual therapy begin?

PSA Risen in Last 6 months
It had been almost undetectable on
ADT
for 10 years, but 6 months had risen to 8.0. Now 6 months later it is 89.0! I am shocked by this sudden rise in 6 months. What could have caused this, and what is our next step in order to lower PSA?

Orgovyx + Abiaterone?
Wants to make sure doing ok on this
ADT
and then add Abiaterone. RT in 2 months. MO said that Orgovyx + Abiaterone is not an option by NCCN guidelines, could be interaction issues (paraphrasing). But I see several posts of others taking this combo instead of Eligard/Lupron.

Low-T is associated with worse Prostate Cancer Specific Mortality probability after 6 months of ADT: Part III
The cohort is: Unfavorable Risk after RT and 6 months of
ADT
. These plots show that the probability of dying from prostate cancer (after PSA failure) is significantly worse for men with Low-T.

First Lutetium Treatment
Hello, After many years on
ADT
and ARPI drugs, my prostate cancer is back. My medical oncologists have discovered several new lesions. I am now on the verge of starting Lutetium. The list of side effects provided to me is somewhat daunting.

Creatine?
I am not yet on
ADT
(TBD), but I want to have good habits for strength training if indeed I end up going that way. He mentioned recently that he might recommend creatine to me. I did some brief research and it seems like there's some good and bad data regarding creatine.

Radiation PSA, Orgovyx, Bone density
Bone density down considerably( thanks
ADT
) but still normal for age 83. Starting Calcium, vitamin D, and increasing resitance training. Prefer not to take bone strengthening agents since bad SE with Zometa and MO not positive they will do that much good. I look forward to your comments.

Managing side effects of ADT
I have found that Richard Wassersug has many blog postings related to ways to manage
ADT
side effect on the LifeOnAdt.com website. I also found the new version of his book has a great section on dealing with relationship issues.
