Brachytherapy seeds early November , LINAC radiation boost ending early Jan .. ADT ending beginning March.. had space ore ..was totally ok except for urgency to pee sporadically.. other mild side effect and started to notice .. odd bowel issues.. one time had some gas and was careful but soon notice some light leak .. sorry pretty gross. This surprised me as I haven’t had anything unusual until now. I wasn’t sure if I ate something bad or …but this hasn’t happened before ever. One time after again and now 3-4 days ok. I wasn’t sure of bowel issues present themselves later after treatment or if this an anomaly. I sure it’s not an anomaly but hoping this passes with time. I have noticed that the sudden urge to pee has faded which is good but now this. I have been exercising and walking outside and I thing this is helping .. best wishes to all.

My husband had LD Brachytherapy Jan 2023. No other treatment. The only change he's noticed is more acrid smelling wind at times & occasional wind while pooing (only a little more than prior to treatment). Occasionally he has wind that he can't distinguish whether it is wind or bowel motions, but this is only very occasional. His bowel movements have been normal apart from that.

Don't know if that's of any help?

Thanks for your input it’s helpful. I sort of noticed your husbands symptoms as well. I didn’t have any symptoms for 4 months really.. but I had an external radiation booster.. I wish your husband the best !

I've had brachy and external beam radiation. My bowels are definitely more sensitive and urgency has increased as well. My brachytherapy was in April 2018. Not sure how quickly it happened, but it appears to be here to stay.

Even after 5 years out from LD orHD brachy, gas/constipation can be a problem sometime. I use simethicone or in conjunction with a stimulant laxative
