Dealing with loved one who won't seek help
We have tried talking to him many times about rehab and therapy - as a sufferer of a few mental disorders, it's obvious that he is depressed & that is the core of his behavior (at least now), but he has refused to attend even the free therapy sessions we had for him with an
addiction
specialist.

My prescription changed - no improvement to my ADHD
I took 0.5 mg risperidone for a long-time period and it was like an
addiction
for me. After the passage of time that medicine stop working for my condition. I behaved like a psychopath then I discussed it with my doctor he said that according to my age I have to change my medicine.

I guess we are never non smokers and must always treat it like the
addiction
it is, too easy to slide back into. Much like alcoholics, ex smokers must never have just one puff as it will inevitably lead to one cigarette, one packet, I'll stop tomorrow etc.........

COMING FROM SOMEONE WHO HAD TO DEAL WITH SOMEONE WITH
ADDICTION
. Well maybe it isnt a disease but lets say you started a certain anti-depressant or some kind of medication for a mental illness you have and you are dependent on it. That could be considered drug
addiction
but you cant help it.

My First Post
I suffered a huge drug
addiction
for 3 years which I managed to overcome a year ago, but it’s definitely left it’s mark on my life. Everyday I’m battling myself whether it’s 24 hours of depressive thoughts and emotions, or 7 days of constant hyperventilation and panic.

Decision Time
Though I well never be prepared for them I am determined to face them head on to break this
addiction
. I also know its rarely a good idea to just deny ourselves something as we usually just binge more.

Love addiction and abandonment issues
I think I am struggling with love
addiction
and the fear of being abandoned. Since childhood my father used to tell me that it was clear my worst fear was being lonely, and because of that I was insecure and with low self esteem.

Time to share.....
By the time I moved, I had gotten so burned out from talking to others, I needed to withdraw in on myself just to recover from that, for lack of a better word,
addiction
. It wasn't until 2007 that my life finally began to turn the corner. I decided to try therapy again.

10 Best Drug Rehab Centers in Arizona
An addicted person is still a person, not "an addict" and stands the best chance of getting their
addiction
under control when the mind and body are treated. A number of mental illnesses and disorders can be comorbid with
addiction
, as can some physical illnesses and disorders.

Rock bottom.
I used cannabis a lot during this time to the point where I have an obvious
addiction
. My lifestyle has become dangerous as I hardly sleep and when I feel low can go 3 or 4 days without eating anything.

MY PIP ASSESSMENT YESTERDAY
Went to yet another one of these farcical medicals, assessment yesterday my examiner said her speciality was drug
addiction
so why is she assessing someone who has PTSD and heart disease with diabetis, severe depression, agraphobia and double hernia that makes me look 8 month preggers with twins.

Is NHS causing Addiction by its Negligence of the Muscuskeletal diagnosis ?
I believe NHS ought to get its act to gather re: way it treats the muscuskeletal via independent physios & practitioners who are not the best medically qualified to Research & diagnose as have succumbed to remits & criteria ??!! Triaging is foolhardy surely? All this and with GPs who have allowed

Should you be able to express yourself freely on this site?
Within that time frame you have cautioned me twice already, people are dealing with
addiction
and should be able to curse in their posts if so they please. I am not sure how much I appreciate or how much more appetite I have for guidelines.

End stage liver disease
The social services have been amazing, he sees an
addiction
specialist every two weeks and attends a club for recovering alcoholics. Sorry i’ve rambled on! Simply want to know what end stage actually means. Thanks in advance.
