Peritoneal dialysis
I am new to this site, hello! I am 65 years young, have been on peritoneal dialysis for a year and a half. I chose peritoneal over hemodialysis as I feel more normal and not wiped out after treatment. Getting a good night's sleep has been a challenge, seem to wake up every 2-3 hours. Just had to

OLD CODGER NEEDS A HELPING HAND
Hi I am male, aged 72 years, 5' 8" in height and weighing 93 kg. I have recently been diagnosed with heart failure and I am trying to lose weight. Despite cutting out virtually all carbs, all processed food, sweets and snacks and walking whenever I can, my weight is staying static. What else do I need

Ablations and cardioversions and internal defibrillator
I had my third ablation the end of May. It seems to be a failure as I went into afib about 2 days after the ablation. I had a cardioversion the end of July, put me in sinus rhythm for only 2 days. I had another cardioversion one week ago and was in NSR until last night. I am taking Coreg and propafanone

Update - in case anyone else is in a similar position!
I posted recently that the derm thought I had lichen aureus - well the biopsy results came back and it's granuloma annulare apparently. I've been put on tacrolimus. Wondering if anyone else with hypo has had or tried this? I'll update in a month or so even if no one has, just in case it helps anyone

Calcichew 500mg tablets are different sizes in container...
I have hypoparathyroidism. I've been taking Calcichew 500mg tablets for years. Recently, I discovered my new (latest) container of Calcichew tablets were different sizes. Larger ones (those I'm used to) mixed with smaller tablets. Should I be worried? Family members (on my behalf) went to talk to

Long Term Treatment
Believe it, or not, and it does amaze me.....It's been Twenty Years, since I Collapsed with Vasculitis. I was given or, more correctly, my Mother was told that I had 'Less Than An Hour' to live. I AM aware that it is only due to the skills/care of Surgeons/Doctors, along with my Mother's ceaseless love

A great success by approaching things from the other direction!
I will keep this short, so if any one wants to ask me more about this they can do so. I posted some time ago about approaching RLS from the viewpoint of fixing my sleep problems first, not the RLS. And that is what I have been doing. After more than 6 years of having great difficulty sleeping, with

Blood test says reverse T3 is gone, but I still feel hypothyroid???
Hi everyone, I have been on an awful journey with Reverse T3 for the past few months. I finally found a doctor who switched me to Cytomel 3 weeks ago, and my Reverse T3 blood test just came back super low. This would seem to be a good sign, except my hypothyroid symptoms are not better! I have read a

2nd kidney
Hello all, I'm new to this app and wanted to see what it's all about.. I'm about to receive my second kidney transplant, in which the first one lasted me 15 years. Don't really have a lot of energy but trying to think of things I could do while at home since I'm not working and on disability. Any ideas

Blue badge scheme
A quick question, I was diagnosed with AF and heart failure 7 years ago and as time has gone by my mobility has decreased due to breathlessness after mild exertion. My family advise me to apply for a blue badge due to the condition. Has anyone else gone down this route and been successful?

A little knowledge
I've been mentioning to my cardiologist for ages that my digestive system seems to be linked to my af/heart failure as I get periods, two or three times a week, when I feel dreadful, but an hour later, having been to the loo, I'm fine again, so it's almost as if there's an obstruction or large blood

I am 69 and insulin dependent. I have a very light breakfast but a heavy dinner and use Mixtard 20 units in the morn and 10 units of actrapid in the night. My post prandial blood sugar levels keep changing every night. Should I change anything? Thks.
