Diuretics not working anymore
Hi all an update from my last post... carvedidol has been doubled to try and rate control me so hopefully will sort the rogue AFs...I also ask has anyone else who also has heart failure with Lvsd who takes diuretics found them not to work as well as they did in the begining (I retain water in the abdomen

New member, please be gentle with me.
Hello everyone, my name is Ian, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Respiratory Failure in April this year. I am on continuous flow oxygen on setting 1 when sitting and 2 when walking and showering, I am on oxygen 24/7 unfortunately, but never mind there are people a lot worse off than me.

Dad has stage 5 CKD
My Dad has chronic nephritis and now he is down to only 14% function which puts him at stage 5 :( The Dr is not suggesting dialysis, my dad is 86 and has not really asked why it's not being offered. I am looking at diet etc and any supplements that might help him but everything I read online seems to

surgery for a blood clot in the heart.
I am now waiting for surgery to remove a blood clot in my heart and the surgeon has said he will ablate at the same time. Then my blood pressure went off the scale and I think I am developing heart failure. My GP is no good to change my BP medication as I end up with terrible side effects. I am now

Confused about fluid restriction
Hi all hope you are all doing well My gfr is 7% and not on dialysis but have my fistula ready for action. For the last 15months I've been on fluid restriction of 1000mls and 160mg of diuretic. All was going well until the last 10 weeks and all I seem to do is gain fluid. Saw my consultant Wednesday and

Update
I previously posted about my Bisoprolol being increased to help breathlessness when in fact it made it worse. Two weeks ago I went to the surgery for a blood test. Got half way across the car park and suddenly couldn't get any breath. This got worse and worse so the Drs called an ambulance and I was

Wondering about Social Life in HD Centers
Hi All! I am 64-year-old man with a long history of dealing with CKD and dialysis. I started doing peritoneal dialysis in 2005 and continued until I got a transplant in 2009. I think I was probably lucky that I didn't have to wait longer. My kidney has been holding up, but my eGFR has been hanging around

Is my heart going to stop beating, will I drop dead?
I started taking Bisoprolol 5yrs ago because I had fluid on my lungs after a chest infection, was told I had heart failure but not to worry that was just a general description of an ageing heart After a recent routine ECG an unusual heartbeat was noted and I was put on warfarin to prevent clots and strokes

Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Diagnosis...
I have been treated for COPD for about 8 years. Over the past few years my diagnoses are changing and went from chronic bronchitis to COPD, to chronic respiratory failure and lastly PAH and CHF. I haven't been able to find much information on PAH and have no idea how it is treated or how it progresses

Stage 3 kidney disease
Anyone have SLE and kidney disease? I knew my kidneys weren't great, but I was hoping dialysis and kidney transplant were not going to be something I had to address anytime in my lifetime. I am trying to stay calm, but need the support of this community right now, because my husband is not

What is SOB? Husband has COPD ,oxygen level is good 98/99. Has heart problems but not heart failure. He has issues with clogged arteries that are being addressed. He has cough and struggles to breathe. He was given something for anxiety, but that has not helped.

Withdrawing from Klonopin
I remember my doctor looking me on the eyes and telling me that it is okay to take klonopin 3 times a day. He wanted me to take .5mg of klonooin three times a day for a year, to let my anxiety "calm down" smh. Thank God I didn't listen. At one point I did do the 3 times a day but it was only for a short
