Endo surgery?
Hello all, I was diagnosed with endometriosis in October, seen consultant at beginning of month and told the only treatment for me left is surgery. I’m in constant pain…. And it’s affecting every area of my life. The recommended action now is a hysterectomy as all other avenues are exhausted. I don’

Almost 9 weeks post hysterectomy- need a whinge!!
Apologies for this post. I’m just having a bad day and know there will be someone out there who can sympathise! I’ll also start with saying if you are considering a hysterectomy, please don’t let this post put you off! I had a total hysterectomy 8.5 weeks ago and in the whole I’m doing good. Already

Hair thinning and Hypothyroidism
Hi there, I'm a patient who has been recently placed on a low dose of Levothyroxine which I am trying desperately to get upped. Currently 25mg and 50mg on the weekends. I'm 43, I've just caught sight of my hair in the mirror in my bathroom and there is a marked appearance of thinning of my scalp at

Hysterectomy update
Hi, so I had my hysterectomy on Monday. It went well though when they opened me up they found things were worse than expected. The cyst had grown from 6cm in December to 12cm. The surgeon showed me photos afterwards, I couldn't believe how big it was. I don't understand how I could have had something

Start Over or Decrease Dose
The labs below are for 2 grains of NP Thyroid tested about 10 hours after my dose. I see an Integrative doctor and we are not agreeing on the next step . I definitely felt overmedicated. I was emotional, looked and felt horrible, and felt like I was starving all the time, so I believe I need to lower

Appointment with Gynae- who clearly wasn’t interested
Just had an appointment with a private gynaecology dept via the NHS. Honestly I felt like the guy wasn’t all that interested, he barely even asked me my symptoms, he didn’t even ask how bad or where my pain was , he told me I had adenomyosis from an internal exam and then basically said there is no cure

Anyone had a surgeon who operates on a 'Frozen Pelvis' for a second time?
Hi everyone, It's a long story, but does anyone have experience of surgery on a Frozen Pelvis for a second time? I had stage 4 endometriosis with severe bowel adhesions 13 years ago (age 36). I had full hysterectomy and both ovaries removed. My bowel had to be dissected due to the adhesions and I was

How to support someone going through chemotherapy
Hi everyone I really hope that I’m okay to ask this question. I’m after some advice on how best to support my mum who is 78. She has recurrent endometrial cancer that has spread to three sites. First diagnosed in 2017, had hysterectomy, recurred in 2019 and had a hormone treatment followed by chemotherapy

Hysterectomy on nhs
Hi I’m new to this platform but wanted to know if anyone had any tips on how they went about requesting a hysterectomy from their gp? I’m aware this may be unlikely as I’m only 18 but all the treatment I’ve been given hasn’t helped my pain much.

Rare ovarian cancer
Just wondered if anyone has been diagnosed with a low grade steroid tumour of the ovary? It is very difficult to find any information as it is rare. I was diagnosed in 2017 and had a full hysterectomy. It recurred in 2019 and I had major surgery to remove 15 lymph nodes and it has just recurred again

Hernias
Hi all Noti long after debunking had an incisional hernia also known as an eventration. The surgeon repaired it with mesh. Is HRT so bad?
I told a friend yesterday that I might need a hysterectomy (for Endo), and she said ‘oh I do hope not as you will be put on a very strong dose of HRT - surely there’s another option?’. What’s the big deal with going on HRT? Maybe I am not clued up enough but should I be more scared of it? I personally
