My bowel movements have been irratic, which I was expecting. But the pain afterwards is incredible it's worse than the pain I got before. I literally have to lie on the floor doubled over.
I have / had stage 4 endo there was some bowel involvement the cyst mass was attached and the bowel was shaved nothing more I don't think.
I did try searching as I'm sure pre surgery I saw someone else discussing this or similar. So if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.
I was under a BSGE centre and only have direct access to them until Thursday until I have to just go to my GP. I am definitely panicking about this as my GP surgery knows nothing about endo and always give me wrong information. I feel this is more linked to endo and the hysterectomy and not just a hysterectomy. Although I could be totally wrong.
Thank everyone.

Hi I had my hysterectomy twelve days ago, with bowel shave, removal of endo, so still in the early days of recovery. Have you been taking anything to help with BM. I've been taking lactulose daily, drinking plenty of water. Also found smaller lighter meals were easier to begin with. BSGE haven't given you very long contact time, I can contact mine direct for up to six weeks post op. Maybe check on that one, so much to try and take in after op!
Still very early days and nerves will all be coming back to life. How are you feeling generally? Did you have a total hysterectomy?
HeyI have been drinking a bit, I drink too much, so I was told in hospital🙈. It's the pain afterwards. It's absolutely awful.
I had a hysterectomy with ovaries and tubes. I feel ok, trying not to do too much as I often just feel rough and need to lie down - don't think I'd prepared myself for the post surgery part at all!
Going to try softeners for now then need to be referred back to my hospital by the GP if I need anything - I rang them this morning. That's what they said, just hope my GP doesn't try and sort things and knows how to refer me back.
It's 7 days to get on the ward, I think I might be under them for the 6 weeks. But the hospital is under a different trust as it's 2 hours away, so its difficult to know what will happen. I know they have an endo nurse but no idea how to get hold of her or what her name is. Or even how to find out!
My care when in there was amazing and everyone works so hard and they are so short staffed. I don't feel the aftercare and knowing what to do is there. I didnt come away with any advice really and have no idea how I'd speak to them again. I don't get a post op appointment either, do you? Which really shocked me. To be honest I feel like I'm flying solo at the moment.
Try the softeners and see how you get on, it should make a difference. The lighter meals will make it easier for body to break down, bowels won't have to work as hard to get things moving. Lots of sleep is a good idea, listen to your body and rest when you need.
If your really worried about the pain phone the hospital back up. It is still very early days, it's a lot for the brain to take in how much work has actually been done.
I read over a lot of posts to prepare for post op. Did hospital give you any info before op? No leaflets?
Any info on discharge notes? Was endo removed?
Have you looked at the hospital web site, no contact info on that?
I've got a follow up with consultant in 6months, but no date yet. You do kind of feel like your just left to get on with things, but we need the time to heal.
How did you find the journey home? hospital is just under an hour from me and it wasn't the nicest of journeys!!
Feel free to private message me anytime, not doing much at the moment...hahahaha
Do you have an endo nurse at your hospital who is linked to your case? I’d call them and ask for more details of your surgery. Sounds to me if they’ve touched and shaved your bowel, this would explain discomfort. I too had an endo related hysterectomy last week but my bladder and bowel were untouched
