Hello, I had open surgery, so I am not sure my experience is helpful for you. While not surprising that your internal organs are feeling a bit delicate right now, I think it would be good to mention the frequency to your team. This particularly because they haven’t yet given you an idea of what they found or if they got everything out… Time to ask some questions xx

Hi I had my ovaries and my fallopian tubes removed during open surgery in 2020. Since then I have to rush to the toilet the moment my body tells me and sometimes I just about make it. I also wake up in the night to go which I've never had to do. For me it's possibly due to menopause. 2 yrs on its slightly got better x

I had 10 hour robot assisted op last October with about 6 organs removed or procedured(just invented that word). Forweeks andweeks I was up every 2 hours at night to wee. Now fine with normal frequency. Do make sure you get a UTI test and if that is positive they will give you antibiotics. Either hospital or GP. Will do this. Like Elvis, our bodies are “all shook up” by op, so a time to settle ismormal.

Hi Sorry to here this. I had one ovary and tube removed last year. Every now and then now I get urinary frequency which I am putting down to lower oestrogen/peri menopause. I have an appointment with the consultant in a few weeks for a check up so I'm going to ask about this. I was /am prone to cystitus /UTIs before my op anyway. Make sure you get tested for a UTI. Also anecdotal but may help, I try to drink water, cranberry, eat greek yoghurt, do pelvic floor exercises and try not to have fizzy drinks and caffeine related stuff. Hope everything gets better. I was also given vagifem pessaries to take Victoria x

If you had a catheter during or after surgery, you're at higher risk for a UTI. If you test negative for infection, look into pelvic floor physical therapy after you've healed from your surgery. Good luck with your recovery. --Lani

It would be a good idea to speak to your team about this. UTIs are VERY common after pelvic surgery, especially if you had a catheter, and even with no other symptoms, it's worth being checked for infection. Sending hugs!
