i have been reading posts on this site. most of them over 5yrs old.

I have been diagnosed by :Gynecologist: cholorectal: Urology, Gastroenterology.

Tests : Endoscopy

: Gastroscopy

: Colonoscopy

 : Defacating Proctogram

. : Colonic Transit Exray Study.

. : Barium exrays

. : urodynamics on the bladder

. : cystoscopy.

Diagnosis: Urology,Stone in Kidney.

. : Gastroenterology,

. : Chronic Diverticulosis.

. : Colorectal, Rectocele,

. : Grade 2.

. : Gynecologist, Cystocele

. : Grade .1

I have been battling for over 11 years trying to get help with all the above symptoms.

I had a Cystocele repair 12 years ago, this solved the bladder issues then.

I am now told by Gynecologist &Urologist they don't do operations

for these problems now.Go away do Keegals exercises!

I have tried keegal exercise, downloaded numerous videos,to try and get them right. They do not work for me.

What I found by self help site's like this one, is how to manage my symptoms better.

I kept a food diary to see what foods made my symptoms worse.

Caffeine made no difference.

Cow's milk definitely had an impact on my Diverticulosis symptoms.

Gluten does impact on my Diverticulosis.

My GP would not refer me for food allergies tests stating, you obviously have Lactose intolerance & Gluten

intolerance. Your food diary confirms this! Don't eat foods with Lactose and Gluten in them!

I have not had Gluten or Lactose based foods for year's! I eat a healthy well balanced diet and, drink plenty of water

then GP's wonder why people go to Dr Google!

I have battled to get answers for my symptoms, 11 years!

I do get bladder infections, however with self help nowhere near as often as I used to.

Anyone who reads this will understand where I am coming from.

I would like to see people on sites like this, to post what they have tried an tested for their conditions and. What worked for them.

I am sure people would benefit from

any advice, good or bad.

I have found keeping food dairies,

symptom dairies really helps.

urine input/output charts are helpful too.

To help with Diverticulosis and constipation,I take 2 Oxy-Powder time released Oxygen Magnesium Compound tablets every night.

I take these just before bedtime, on an empty stomach.

I am as regular as clockwork the following morning. No gas, bloating or stomach cramps!I use a Squaty Potty Step so I am in the right position to aid bowel elimination.

I struggled for year's in this department. This works for me, bonus when it's gone, it's gone! No more harsh laxatives that used to take days to work, then you had to be near the Loo.

My Colorectal Consultant said if it works for you fine. I asked if I could get this prescription onthe NHS, He said no,to expensive!

I also take D-Mannose supplements, I take 3daily. Since I have been on these supplements, I have not had a bladder infection for 14 months. Prior to this, I was getting infections roughly every 6/8 weeks, at one stage during Covid Lockdown I went incontinent. This was the last straw. I promised myself I would get to the bottom of all my issues once we were out of lockdown. Hence all the above tests!

Most importantly Badger you're GP'S to refer you to the appropriate Consultant's and get the right diagnosis.

Take your help care providers advice, then do what's best for you

sorry for the length of this post, what I would like to see, is more people posting what works for them

I am sure we could all benefit from helping each other .

it is blatantly obvious these conditions are not being helped by the so called professionals.

I hope we can all help each other,by using these site's, I have found them literally life saving for myself.

Stay safe, keep well and don't give up hope,. Help is out there.

I agree, we do have to fight our own battles and figure out what works best for us. Keep up the good work!

Keep up the good work I too have issues with the medical professionals I live in the states and all I can say is they have taken out the care in health care over the years I have seen many different specialists to just receive one pill after another that did nothing but make me worse I now see an herbalist…I also use d mannose I also use marshmallow root tea with slippery elm this helps with digestion and soothe the bladder I use 4 tablespoons to a quart of water and sip it through out the day with 4 (2 at a time) slippery elm tablets it has helped…I have a pundel nerve issue which cause me chronic pain (I was left with this after a corrective surgery on my bladder) for this I take valerian root and hops pills 2 each at a time up to 3 times a day…I wish you luck on your journey for me personally the medical dr.’s did nothing to help in fact I felt worse under their care…treating a sinus infection in this country has become unbelievable I think we all need to get back to basics

Thank you for your detailed post. I also suffer from an assortment of afflictions. Many times, doctors are useless and I have to research my own best help. You mention lactose and gluten intolerance. I recently learned that I have fructose malabsorption. That explains much of my gut issues and maybe some other people’s too. Press your doctor to order food intolerance breath tests if you have ongoing gut issues. There’s a lot of help on the web - recipes, support groups etc. for lactose, fructose and other food sensitivity issues. My best to all,

Andi

I had a total hysterectomy and rectocele repair last year. The doctors here (US) still do them. I also have diverticulosis and when they did my colonoscopy they said my colon was full of diverticula. Also had 7 polyps and two of them were quite large and that was after my last one that was two years ago. I have a lot of problems with bloating and bowel movements and upper and lower abdominal pain. Going to the GI next month to see if they can answer questions. I so understand what you're going through and it's hard when you can't get answers. But then I worked for doctors and they sometimes don't have all the answers but you have to be your own advocate in your healthcare. Wishing you well and hope things get better. For me I feel they can't get worse...or at least I hope not. As a side note I can't take a lot of meds as they cause stomach ulcers for me. Again, wish you the best.
