So I mainly want to ask you guys is a procedure like a
gastroscopy

Colonoscopy/gastroscopy
I’ve just had my first ever hospital procedure with sedation - A colonoscopy and
gastroscopy
(top and tail) to check why I might not be absorbing B12 and iron. I’ve been terrified about it for so long and it was a complete non-event.

Gastroscopy today
I had my
gastroscopy
today, and had to have one varice banded. I'm not sure if this is good or bad?

Query of whether I have Pernicious Anaemia
(The
gastroscopy
was not specifically done for diagnosis of any pernicious anaemia, as was done prior to the knowledge of my B12 status) I had an iron infusion and was commenced on B12 injections.

Very nervous - Gastroscopy/ Varices Banding
I'm getting very anxious as I have my
gastroscopy
next week. I'm not nervous about the actual procedure, I'm just very anxious about what they're going to find.

Ph monitoring Bravo test
I am due to for a
gastroscopy
with BRAVO capsules test later this month. Has anyone undergone this test? Whilst the capsule is attached to the esophagus did it pain particularly when eating? How long was it before the capsule detached itself and pass out through bowel movement?

Confusing biopsy results
Last week I had a
gastroscopy
and the gastoenterologist has just sent me a letter saying that although there was evidence of gastritis, the biopsies showed no evidence of autoimmune or atrophic gastritis. She would like to see me to discuss this in detail. Have I missed something?

Gastroscopy aftermath!
I had a
gastroscopy
yesterday evening. He went down into my stomach and small intestine. I've had a few of these in the past - the last one 20 years ago. I cannot remember feeling quite so bruised and sore as I did last night and still do.

Portal Gastropathy
Yesterday I had a
gastroscopy
and colonoscopy and, among other things, the report said I had portal gastropathy, which I've read is usually caused by cirrhosis. So, now I'm freaked out, even though the doctor told me after the procedure that things "looked good at the top and bottom".

Confusion on fibroscan results
Hi All, my husband was recently told he had an enlarged liver ( spotted when having a
gastroscopy
) and that he would get a follow up fibroscan - this took a few weeks and then we got the results by letter which completely shocked and scared us!

Varices
I am going in next Friday for a
gastroscopy
. My specialist said it was urgent, and is already assuming that I will need banding. I just wanted to ask is this normal, or will the doctor performing the scope make the decision when he sees the state of my varices?
