Gastroscopy

So I mainly want to ask you guys is a procedure like a gastroscopy actually worthwhile doing for someone like me. Will they actually detect something?

I’ve just had my first ever hospital procedure with sedation - A colonoscopy and gastroscopy (top and tail) to check why I might not be absorbing B12 and iron. I’ve been terrified about it for so long and it was a complete non-event.

I have just noticed that the report states whole stomach atrophic mucosa as well as gastric muscosa at the antrum. Would this indicate AIG rather than H Pylori? Thanks.

The gastroscopy is only investigative and no biospsies taken or anything done. I know no one can advise as to the Apixaban but any insights would be welcome…..if anyone is awake. Thanks all.

(The gastroscopy was not specifically done for diagnosis of any pernicious anaemia, as was done prior to the knowledge of my B12 status) I had an iron infusion and was commenced on B12 injections.

I had a gastroscopy in October and they found erosions in my stomach lining. I've since been given Lansoprazole to help heal my stomach. I just wondered if this has happened to anyone else? My GP believes the aspirin caused the erosion.

She arranged a gastroscopy. I had to come off the lansoprazole before for two weeks. I tapered a week every other day then stopped as I didn't have much notice. Gastroscopy was clear other than a few benign stomach polyps. Day after procedure I had back and chest pain and stomach ache.

Then I would recover gradually as stress alleviated. 3.5 yrs ago, I had a gastroscopy ( camera imaging in stomach) at UCH in London. Inflammation of stomach lining. I was prescribed Omapromazole, which I declined because I understood it can lead to Osteoprosis & kidney damage.

I am having a Colonoscopy and Gastroscopy soon for various gut problems but was wondering if lymphodaema can contribute/exacerbate those problems? And what might be any implications in the investigative procedure or worse any surgery that might be necessary? Thanks

I had my gastroscopy today, and had to have one varice banded. I'm not sure if this is good or bad?

I’ve recently had a gastroscopy done and was diagnosed with GERD and was prescribed pantoprazole 40mg (1 tablet daily). I do not know whether I should be unduly alarmed with this diagnosis nor what to expect going forward.

Started throwing up blood, pain under right ribs , right shoulder and back, no appetite December 2024 Admission to hospital for 2 days Gastroscopy showed lining of stomach damaged by bile from previously diagnosed hiatal hernia 3 oesophageal biopsies taken . Sent home with no follow up .

I was given a Gastroscopy Report as follows, but no explanation, so have had to resort to Chat GPT! 'Glycogenic acanthuses in the oesophagus. No hiatus hernia or active oesophagitis. Some atrophic change in the stomach with active erosive gastritis in mid body. Biopsies taken. Duodenum normal.

I had colonoscopy and gastroscopy a few years ago when I Augmented on Mirapexin and was also anaemic. I have a hiatus hernia and Diverticulitis. No symptoms. Please advise. I take ferrous bisglycinate on alternate days with effervescent vitamin C on empty stomach.

I am due to for a gastroscopy with BRAVO capsules test later this month. Has anyone undergone this test? Whilst the capsule is attached to the esophagus did it pain particularly when eating? How long was it before the capsule detached itself and pass out through bowel movement?

Hi all so finally i think i have an answer to why ive felt like shit for 2 years, had a gastroscopy yesterday and have been diagnosed with sliding hiatus hernia up until now i have been prescribed with nausea medication, and tried gavison and omeprazole non seem to make an impact.

The told her also next month to go also on gastroscopy... now she only takes Ursofalk. If you have experiances or you now sombedy that lives with the same please write me , i am scared that my mom soon will die...

Due to the detection of occult blood in my stool, a colonoscopy and gastroscopy were performed but the results were normal. Repeated FIT came back positive again. Fibroscan- F0. Liver ultrasound done few months ago says "slightly increased echogenicity and slightly heterogenous".

I'm getting very anxious as I have my gastroscopy next week. I'm not nervous about the actual procedure, I'm just very anxious about what they're going to find.
