Gastroscopy

Hello, I've had the gastroscopy results - the biopsies show that I have gastritis. H. pylori negative. This is following long term iron deficiency, B12 deficiency (low for at least 10 years and deficient a year ago). Would having a diagnosis of gastritis rule out autoimmune gastritis?

I recently had a gastroscopy- (I am in the investigating stage of cirrhosis) and they found 3 grade 2 varices during this procedure. My question is would they have banded them then or would they do another gastroscopy to band them if needed? Sorry if this sounds a bit gatbled! Thanks

Just had a quotation for my upcoming colonoscopy and gastroscopy. It's a mouth watering £3, 841.00. And as I mentioned still unwell. No job, no friends nothing. I'm not sure how much more I can take. I've had enough.

I'm about to start pantopranazole after a recent Gastroscopy showed hiatus hernia and gastritis. I also have the classic hoarseness, kiss of voice and asthma like cough etc. l feel so isolated with this terrible irritated, burning pain at times.

It now looks as if it's liver cirrhosis and the gastroscopy which I've had a week ago has shown varices:3 grade 2, vascular lesions: portal hypertensive gastropathy and gastritis: erythematous no bleeding.

So I mainly want to ask you guys is a procedure like a gastroscopy actually worthwhile doing for someone like me. Will they actually detect something?

I have just noticed that the report states whole stomach atrophic mucosa as well as gastric muscosa at the antrum. Would this indicate AIG rather than H Pylori? Thanks.

I’ve just had my first ever hospital procedure with sedation - A colonoscopy and gastroscopy (top and tail) to check why I might not be absorbing B12 and iron. I’ve been terrified about it for so long and it was a complete non-event.

I’ve been generally well, apart from being injured during a recent routine gastroscopy. (Do you get frequently injured or experience complications during routine procedures? It seems to happen to me more and more often these days.)

The gastroscopy is only investigative and no biospsies taken or anything done. I know no one can advise as to the Apixaban but any insights would be welcome…..if anyone is awake. Thanks all.

Just had results of Gastroscopy and CT scan.6cm adenocarcinoma tumour at junction of Oesophagus and Stomach.Dysplasia on liver and lymph nodes involvement.Its a huge shock and I'm scared of having surgery even if it's offered because my brother died a few weeks after IL aged 58 for same thing.I live

Fortunately, both came back clear, and I am now going for a gastroscopy and colonoscopy on the same afternoon at my local hospital. So my question is, has anyone else suffered from anaemia after a bypass? I know pretty much everyone does initially, but it normally clears up of its own accord.

It had been coming and going but got worse in November - gastroscopy showed some erosive gastritis and mild duodenal ulceration. Had a bad spell over Christmas and gastroenterologist recommended CT scan which didn’t show anything.

She arranged a gastroscopy. I had to come off the lansoprazole before for two weeks. I tapered a week every other day then stopped as I didn't have much notice. Gastroscopy was clear other than a few benign stomach polyps. Day after procedure I had back and chest pain and stomach ache.

After a Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy plus an MRI Crohns disease is suspected. A large part of my colon was seen to be inflamed especially around my illium which now explains my B12 deficiency !

(The gastroscopy was not specifically done for diagnosis of any pernicious anaemia, as was done prior to the knowledge of my B12 status) I had an iron infusion and was commenced on B12 injections.

Then I would recover gradually as stress alleviated. 3.5 yrs ago, I had a gastroscopy ( camera imaging in stomach) at UCH in London. Inflammation of stomach lining. I was prescribed Omapromazole, which I declined because I understood it can lead to Osteoprosis & kidney damage.

I had a gastroscopy in October and they found erosions in my stomach lining. I've since been given Lansoprazole to help heal my stomach. I just wondered if this has happened to anyone else? My GP believes the aspirin caused the erosion.

I’m going in for a gastroscopy biopsy tomorrow. He doesn’t seem to think they look sinister but he’s very perplexed by it. After reading online you can get these sort of lesion with endo if they grow deeper into the bowel wall… and the fact that it’s ALWAYS during ovulation makes me wonder.
