How to deal with my emotions

ForeverKind profile image
13 Replies

The obgyn who diagnosed my pelvic pain says it’s from a number of sources… age, stress,

No medication suggested, just specialized physio, which I begin next week.

I do practice yoga.. and meditate

I’m quite exhausted by the pain, and discouraged.. afraid of depression … and feeling very alone.

Your input would be appreciated. Thank you .

Thank you for sharing. I’m sorry your pain affected your ability to work.

I do find I have no energy to be with friends, and avoid making plans in case I need to cancel.

Thanks again.

sorry to hear about your situation. I have suffered from PN for a while as well. I do stretching and meditation. I also do PT withe a pelvic pain specialist and take Lyrica and Cymbalta for management of the pain. I’m relatively pain free finally. It was exhausting to deal with the pain and lack of understanding by most. Good luck!

Hi, the lack of understanding does make it a solitary sad process !

Great to hear how well you are doing . Persistence is a key I’m thinking.

Thank you !

Having exhausted all avenues to find reason for my pelvic pain - years of tests, scans , pelvic Physio- I discovered brain reprocessing . When there is no actual ‘cause ‘ of the pain - the theory is your brain is stuck in a state of learned pain - and must be retrained . It’s a long process involving different types of processes but slowly I have seen progress - ( pain since 2016 - sudden onset ) . If you are interested in it - ( it’s usually for people who have exhausted all other medical ‘cures’ - I can message you .

I am 63 BTW.

I would be very interested . I firmly believe our minds have great power.. they have a mind of their own … 😅 ….

And I’m keen on a holistic approach

Thank you !

I started by reading the theory of Dr Sarno ( don’t sunscribe fully to all his theories but as an introduction to TMS and brain reprocessing - it’s a start . Read Alan Gordon’s ‘ The Way Out ‘ and follow him on Insta. All these people have come through chronic pain themselves.

Then I downloaded Curable which I do daily ( 4 pronged approach .)

Other people I follow are .. ( On YouTube )

Dan Buglio

Tanner Murtagh

The Pain PT.

It’s important to listen to testimonials and stories of others who have had chronic pain. We all have a lot in common - main one being A type perfectionist personalities - over thinkers and anxious . You need the reinforcement on a regular basis that your pain is neuroplastic.. It has been the only thing has worked for me . I have had many procedures - lots of different types of drugs - visited every type of medical / pain / alternative specialist ( even travelled at gréât expense to a clinic in The Netherlands during Covid !! ) It’s worth a try .

Well, let me start by saying how very, very grateful I am. Thank you!

I am exactly that : an anxious type A , overthinker, perfectionist! ( retired Virgo teacher) How ever did you know😅

I’m feeling such relief that this pain is understood ! I’m not alone.

I have just ordered Alan’s book at the library.

And have already bookmarked a couple of his interviews to watch.

Now I’ll look at the app.

It sounds like you have been on quite a journey and have found the tools to reclaim your health . Bravo !

And again, many thanks for sharing your wisdom. I shall report back in due time.

Ps Amsterdam is lovely…🌷

Only delighted to help . It’s important to share any help and support with others- you will relate to a lot of what people say in their ‘stories’ -

Sometimes it only takes one thing to turn things around !

Snap with being a retired teacher - most of us are ‘ of a ‘type ‘ alright !

Amsterdam IS lovely!

Best of luck on your way out of this . You will get relief !
