I'm 30.. o have PCOS and have chronic pelvic pain, I've had ultrasounds and scans at done also had a explorative laparoscopy where nothing was found. I've had combined pill, mini pill, implant, drop and currently the coil but the only thing that has helped is ZOLEDEX which causes medical menopause and this is only thing that has made me pain free.
I'm sick of taking painkillers everyday which don't even fully take the pain away.
I was told I could have a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy which I'm currently on the waiting list for and the I can't wait if it means I won't have any pain.. however gynae says there is a chance that the pain will not go away. But if the ZOLEDEX injection worked then surely surgical menopause will work also but just be permanent or am I missing something*
Has anyone had a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy? Did it cure your pelvic pain? Or do you still have pelvic pain? What are the downsides of having this operation?
