I'm new to this site. I'm 51. I Had an ultrasound yesterday and my doctor confirmed that I have a couple of cysts and a small fibroid. I know I shouldn't worry but it's a natural reaction isn't it? I'm in the process of being referred to a gynaecologist. My kidneys are also not functioning 100% and I've been really tired for quite a while???? I don't know if it's from gynaecological problems or from my kidneys and I've yet to find out if they're linked.I keep getting constipated and needing to wee all the time like there's pressure on my bladder and a few months back i had awful crippling pain in my pelvic region which lasted about 5 minutes then disappeared. I also developed anemia 6 months ago but I was hardly bleeding and my periods have stopped altogether now. All these problems coincided with a tooth extraction which went wrong and o had to take ibuprofen on and off for 5 days to cope with the pain. I had an endoscopy for a suspect stomach bleed from the ibuprofen but all they found was a small patch of inflammation in my stomach and the biopsy was normal. My hgb count is normal again after taking iron.So can cysts and fibroids cause tiredness and if they bleed would they bleed like a period or would it be absorbed into your body? Still yet to find answers but was just wondering if anyone else suffers fatigue and as developed anemia not from heavy periods?

Sounds like your doctor is being helpful. An ultrasound will only show a certain amount and the gynaecologist may arrange an mri for you. I had fibroids (and cysts that didn’t show on either scan) and like you was suffering from tiredness. I also peed very frequently due I think to pressure on my bladder from fibroids. I didn’t have any bleeding but am well past the menopause. Reading posts on this blog and talking to other women I think bleeding can be a symptom with fibroids. Try not to worry (easier said than done I know), hopefully you’ll see the gynaecologist soon.
May I ask what treatment the they carried out as this problem is affecting my bladder and bowels as it's on the left side and also my kidney function isn't 100% I'm assuming that's because it's pressing on my bladder?
I had a total hysterectomy and both ovaries removed due to multiple fibroids (one very large). My kidney function was ok I think, I went to my GP originally due to chest pain - pressure upwards due to the mass I had in my womb. The large fibroid (and cysts) were on my right side.
Hi Angie I had a cyst removed 10 years ago, it was so big the gynaecologist couldn’t see my left ovary, apparently it was 10cm long. I too also have fibroids and my periods are very light and always have been. I have to see the gynaecologist once a year to check on the size of the fibroids and so far have not had to have anything done, phew!
Please try not to worry you will have more of an idea once you see the gynaecologist. They suggested the marena coil a year ago with regard to my fibroids but when I had my last annual check the gynaecologist said that my fibroids hadn’t grown that much and I wasn’t in pain so she was happy to leave me as I am. I was told that the fibroids will keep growing until I enter the menopause as it’s the hormones that affect them. I have a friend who had a hysterectomy as she was experiencing very heavy bleeds.
With regards to the fatigue could this be linked to your low iron?

Wow that's a big cyst. I've just had my ultrasound and all the doctor said who referred me is that I have a couple of cysts and a fibroid. The sonographer mentioned the cysts and said they were small but she never mentioned a fibroid but the doctor who's referred me said I had a small fibroid. I have the mirena coil in already.My iron level is normal now, in fact they tested me for lots of things and it all came back normal. My Ca125 was at a low 7 but that test doesn't pick up all problems does it. It's this crushing tiredness that comes over me about 9pm every night, I just can tell keep my eyes open. I don't have periods now so it's not from blood loss.I'm also feeling nauseous a lot. I was tested in 2016 for weight loss and tiredness but never followed it up because I had two jobs at one point and was getting up at half 4 every morning but as soon as I packed one in I started to feel better and put weight on so I assumed it was too much work. Looking back I should have followed it up. The waiting for answers is the worst part
I also should have said to you that I also suffer with constipation and I find drinking plenty of water helps and I too am permanently tired but I’ve learnt to live with it, I’m not always a great sleeper as I have an active mind, so that doesn’t help. However, I think you should follow this up now, as your iron level is normal.
Don’t worry about the cysts and fibroid your gynaecologist will be able to tell you what’s needed if anything. I wasn’t even aware that I had a cyst let alone one of that size!

They've fast tracked me so I'm really worried now. I can't eat or sleep and I feel sick all the time and just burst into tears at anytime. I should get to see Someone in less than 2 weeks but in the meantime I'm in utter torment and nothing or no one can make me feel better. I wish I could put myself to sleep until I get some answers because everyday is everlasting and sheer torture waiting to know your fate 
Try not to worry. It makes it worse. Did they check your gall bladder? If not, get them to.
Oh Angie, can you get yourself some Rescue Remedy it’s s natural product that is great for stress and anxiety. You can buy it in most supermarkets and health shops. It will help with your anxiety and panic! I know it’s a cliche, but try and breath too as it helps to calm you down. You will get through this I promise. If they have found something untoward at least they can deal with it!!!! So that in itself is positive, I know the unknown is scarey. One day at a time sweetheart. Huge hugs xxx
Angie, the thyroid was my thought. You may need ultrasound of thyroid. That blood test isn't always right I'm told.

Im currently waiting for gyane app as have crippling abdominal pain and pelvic pain. To the ladies who had fibroids cld u feel them when press in to abdomine? And what type pain do u have? Im constanly peeing and suffer constipation and own Dr suspects Endo. Last year got told had small cyst on left ovary this year they cldnt find right ovary. Im in pain nearly every day and have myself worried. Also suspect Chrons.

I thought I could feel something on my left side ovary but wasn't sure as your colon is on that side isn't it. I've had a couple of severe pains but the nausea is the worst. It feels like morning sickness but lasts all day. I have read that most fibroids and cysts are benign and some cysts can even have teeth and hair in them! Apparently a woman gets a cyst every month but they disappear after she ovulated but sometimes they don't and can starts growing and just be filled with fluid. My mum as one and she's had it for years and she's 73 now. I also read that most fibroids are benign. I suppose it depends where they are in your uterus if they found to cause problems.Your bound to be worried just like I am. I'm constantly peeing and constipated.Don't hold your feelings in, let it out and have a good cry if needed. The waiting to be seen is the worst isn't it so get through it any way you can. I keep going for long walks to take my mind off things and I sleep a lot. I'm also taking cbd oil to try and help with the anxiety. Please try not to google stuff cause you'll just make yourself worry more. Hope you get seen very soon. Take care x

Ive actually been suffering with pain since last August they thought was gallbladder. Its been removed and pain came back worse. Ive found a Dr who listens to me at own surgery he the one said "somethings not right i there" he so kind. Im seeing him again 21st May to tell him about lumps can feel and asking for MRI and camera capsule endoscopy to rule out chrons . Please keep us updated on how u are x
When you had small cyst in 2017 what's did they say? I would have thought they would put you on a watchful waiting list to monitor it? I've heard of ladies having benign cysts the size of melons and they only cause problems because of pressing on other organs and not sinister reasons. I would keep on at the doctors and tell them your in a lot of pain and it's affecting your life
They said it was only small one and that it comes and goes when period starts. Ive been keeping diary every day of my feelings and pain so they will no im not making it up
Angie, it is normal to worry but it does waste precious energy. Have you heard if a product called Pascoflaire? It is essentially Passion flower extract. It is a herbal remedy for anxiety and worry. It works. You might like to try some.
Have you had your magnesium level checked? What about your vitamin D level? Both of these play a big role in biochemical reactions in our bodies.
We use Cal-Mag for pain and relaxation. Maybe you can get some?

Yes you can feel large fibroids. I thought my “lump” was my dinner working it’s way out! Had no idea! My GP was onto it as soon as he examined me. Eventually I found out that I had multiple fibroids and cysts but the biggest (and the one even I could feel) was 16 cm x 10 cm. I realise now that all of this has been removed (along with womb, ovaries etc) that it was making me very tired all the time. My surgeon said this happens because your body is supplying th efibroids with blood so you’re working hard looking after the flipping things. Like you I was frantic with worry between my referral and seeing the surgeon, my GP was very supportive during that time and the surgical team at my local hospital were also very reassuring and calmed me down completely in the few days before surgery. It’s hard I know but please try not Tom worry because you will make yourself feel worse. Hope everything is working out for you.
I'm still waiting to see the gynaecologist lol. I've put myself on cbd oil for anxiety which as helped massively. I've just had a normal period when I haven't had one for over a year! And my libido as come back somewhat, that disappeared a year and a half ago. It's very strange that this is happening. I've also recently discovered a small pea sized lump on my breast so that's another thing I have to sort out which is more worrying than the cysts. It's fab being a woman isn't it 😂
Get the breast lump looked at if you haven’t already. May be a cyst, I had one removed a few years ago.
I had a cyst years ago and it doesn't feel the same, it feels like a hard pea which is very worrying. My doctor as put me on urgent referral so should be seen within the next week and half. Hopefully!

How about asking your doctor to measure your C-reactive Protein level. It is a marker for inflammation. Has the doctor ordered a sedimentation rate on your blood? This test is another marker for inflammation.
Have your adrenal glands been tested? What is your cortisol level? Is your blood sugar normal? What about your Lipid profile? (. Cholesterol, etc. )
I am wondering if the thyroid tests should be repeated? There is a marker that is not always tested and is more accurate but I forget what it is called?

I have had all the tests except adrenal & cortisol and cholesterol. I'll probably push for them as well. Thank you for your help though. It's waiting isn't it. It's the pits!
