I've had a potbelly and manboobs since I was about 16. I have had 6 personal trainers and 2-3 months each and I just ended up quitting because no results.
I am 33 now and I am also experiencing Premature ejaculation, anxiety, male pattern baldness
I want to look into hormones but Im not sure where to begin. Saw my endocrinologist who dismissed low to as I was at 320 and she would only treat if I was at 300 .
I asked what do I do despite having " Normal T" I am still having symptoms. She said nothing.
I want to look into T replacement, Clomiphene, HCg, I am not sure who to trust. Who to talk to ?
Has anyone had success getting their fat/muscle distribution right?

Premature ejaculation and male pattern baldness are not related to low testosterone , so you are throwing a few things into the pot there that are not connected. the PE might be due to problems with your self image however.
If you do genuinely have altered body shape since that age, then perhaps other tests such as thyroid, prolactin , FSH LH oestrogen , growth hormone would be relevant. Also consider medication that can cause body shape alterations
It is difficult to make an assessment without being able to examine you and assess for any evidence of altered body shape ( habitus) compared to an individual of the same age and ethnicity . This is what an endocrinologist would do. I presume you were examined when you attended them ?
You only need testosterone if you are testosterone deficient - and from your description you are not . And if you take testosterone exogenously ( from outside ) when you stop you will have a testosterone dip and feel worse. Also remember extra steroids affect your liver function, increase your chance of diabetes , change your cholesterol profile to an unfavourable one, and can have psychological effects.
Fair enough but where do I go from here? Do I seek another doctor? What about HCG, clomiphene? DIM ? How do I find out if T is being converted to estrogen ?
clomiphene is used in hypogonadal men which you are not. Im not sure what you are referring to by DIM . HCG - human choriogonadotrophin again is to do with testosterone levels. Im not sure why you think testosterone is being converted to oestrogen . You could either seek a second opinion, or even consider genetic testing for something like Kleinfelter's.
I guess I'm just attributing all my body image symptoms to low t which is probably a logical mistake.
But Im not sure how to solve the issues. Especially the belly fat one because I can eat pretty healthy and I have worked out for months 5 x /week for an hour .
I just want to make sure there Is nothing wrong physiologically and The only 2 things I can think of that could possibly be wrong physiologically in regards to fat loss are thyroid and testosterone .
I don't know enough about this stuff all I know is im tired of being small and fat at the sam time lol
I think in this case it would be worth discussing with a different endocrinologist and also even to consider genetic tests if there is definite evidence of body shape change to the norm. Do you have any brothers and is your body shape majorly different to them ?
I have 1 brother and his body was not like mine when we were younger and in college he was able to gain a significant amount of muscle. Now he has let himself go because of stress but he still is able to change his body when he tries .
I think I would approach a different doctor . photos of your brother , upper chest, height weight etc might be useful to see if there if is a definite body shape difference which you would not expect
When you say you're small and fat, besides the man boobs and belly ( which I have as well), does small refer to your height? I'm short, and pretty much the shortest in my family.
I thought about getting rid of my man boobies that way, but insurance would never cover it (not in the US at least). I have seen ads for a newer "sculpting" procedure that is done with freezing. I don't know much about it, seems less invasive and intensive as surgery.
Hi, I can tell you your doc isn't keeping up with the times. She's still using those old antiquated charts for testosterone. At your age, you should be at least double that for your Total and Free, Your Total could very well be even higher. A big culprit is estrogen. Men with low T almost always have to high estrogen levels. The gauge is 15 - 30 (US) If you are out of range, it makes it much more difficult to loose fat. Anastrozole is the med used for lowering estrogen. The draw back, is a life time of commitment to T replacement and anastrozole. The one big side effect to T replacement is over production of red blood cells. Your Hemoglobin will rise. 19 is the limit. preferably 15-17. The solution is to donate blood every 3-4 months. It's a PIA, but at least you will be helping some else out. Other things can happen, but I've never had any problems other than a high PSA test. But it's a false high. I've been on T replacement for 10 years now, and no one is going to take it away from me with out a fight. This is a quality of life issue. Hope this helps.
Bioavailable and free testosterone would be calculated using shbg and an albumin level , neither of which are available to us here. And remember there are ranges not absolutes. We would need whatever units the lab is using as there are different ones us/Europe other countries
How did you find a legit Men's clinic that wasn't a get rich quick scheme? Are you in the US? Im in Chicago. Very hesitant about starting TRT. Do you know anything about BHRT? (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy?). Is there a difference?
HI, I don't know anything about BHRT, but my doctor might. Not only do I live in the US, I'm pretty close to Chicago. Northern Indiana. You might give my doctor a call. He is In Carmel. just north of Indianapolis. A quick drive down I65. B. Thomas at Carmel Health & Wellness. 317-663-7123. People from all 4 surrounding states come there because they do take insurance.
