Once a year there is an Adrinal crisis, I end up in
intensive
care
... Constant weakness, no vitality, I sleep a lot... I am only 43 years old. I'm from Ukraine...It's difficult to get competent advice from a specialist. I would be glad for reasonable advice Written

Different hospital
Still
intensive
care
, and back on ventilator as well as tracheotomy but they've already reduced some numbers in a couple of hours. Obviously moving him has left him absolutely shattered, so I came away just after 3.

citalopram sudden withdrawal
I was recently rushed into
Intensive
Care
for dangerously low sodium levels. Citalopram is one of the drugs causing this, along with omeprazole and ramipril. The hospital immediately stopped these 3 medications. I am now 3 weeks out of hospital and feel absolutely dreadful.

Palliative care study
This study highlights the benefits and efficacy of getting involved with palliative care sooner rather than later and using telehealth where possible: https://www.practiceupdate.com/c/167106/32/1/?elsca1=emc_conf_ASCO2024Post-6&elsca2=email&elsca3=practiceupdate_onc&elsca4=202452_ASCO2024Post-6&elsca5

Dad diagnosed with GBM grade 4
Hi, my dad was diagnosed with a glioblastoma about 4 weeks ago. He has gone from being a fairly healthy 58 year old man who travels around the UK and holidays a few times a year abroad to a man who sits on the sofa refusing to go out or do anything. He has got a healthy appetite but is eating way too

Being Mortal Book by Atul Gawande
I want to thank those folks who suggested I read "Being Mortal" especially chapters 5-8. We are meeting with my Dad's oncologist on July 5 and his palliative care doctor on July 8th and I plan to use a lot of what I read during this conversation. My father's pain has returned with a vengeance since June

Overcoming Pneumonia Susceptibility
I flunked my first docetaxel infusion in late 2022 and a week later developed pneumonia resulting in me carried by ambulance to the hospital. As I said in my bio, I was told that another six hours without intervention, I would have been lost. I spent four days there with "tank car" loads of vancomycin

Early detection is a must!
Once I came around and needed to be moved to a less
intensive
care
I was told there was no bed for me, I returned home and had to return twice a day for iv antibiotics. I was lucky and after a couple of days a district nurse became available to complete the antibiotics.

Offered palliative care only
Dear all, Writing to ask if anyone may have an answer to this: My mum 76 years old who was very active and healthy, currently living in Chile deteriorated very quickly while I was visiting last Christmas 2023. Left body side weak so after an emergency visit to neurologist and imaging got discovered
