I have been on holiday for 2 weeks in Spain. So I could enjoy my holiday and drink white wine which I love and cava etc, I have taken no meds at all.
Been swimming,resting,sunbathing etc.
Now,back at home and want to see how I get on with my experiment, not saying you should do this, but I am going to try any alternative to meds.
Got a tens machine,a massager, going swimming and hot water jacuzzi to help with pain, infra red heat in my massager. etc.The bonus is that I can enjoy a glass of wine in the evening which I love.
Will let you all know how I get on xxx sleep as well as you can, everyone xxx

Hi avarose, I do this now also. I found most of the pain meds I was put on caused more problems for me. Now I take much less medication since my flare has gone down. I have a tens machine, a friend who gives me a good massage once a week and take a milti vitamin 2 Q10 tabs per day + I have fresh ginger put in everthing ( soup, stew, porridge ) I eat. even occasional Ginger tea. I find this has really helped me. My friend is a chef so does most of my cooking. Also use Chinese ( woodlock ) massage oil. This for me keeps meds to a mimimum. Hugs xx
Good luck I have found a good gel called jointace and that has helped me. And the medications just make me like a zombie so i avoid them as much as possible.
I think the best way to get the most out of tens machine is 3 times a day for at least 20 mins I got some advice about it on a course with the charity MIND. I am sure there will be some info on internet somewhere regarding maximum benefit for tens. Hope all goes well for you i love water i find it really soothing good idea for the jacuzzi. might give it a try myself. x
the jacuzzi really helped today, the water is nice and hot and as no one else was in,I stretch out and get my shoulders and neck underneath the water.
I feel better now that the zombie feeling has worn off! Another good day,did 30 minutes swimming and am just using my massage machine. Will try the jointace, thanks for the tips.
