Has anyone tried magnesium malate for their fibro. I have been taking it for 2 weeks now and feel so much better, but interested to hear if anyone else has had good results with it. Pain, fatigue and anxiety have been greatly reduced. Hoping this will last long term.

I am taking magnesium citrate and I am not sure if it is working or not, but will persevere until the bottle is empty!

Apparently there is a huge difference between different types of magnesium .

On Reditt there are some serious science buffs down to the mg^³=Cx(mgx√Na÷π) ??? If you know what i mean

I used magnesium citrate but it caused me horrible dizziness, nausea abd sudden extreme fatigue.

You have to be careful with magnesium the wrong kind and the wrong amount can wreak havoc especially if you suffer with fibro or cfd.

Hi I'm hearing great things about magnesium malate however for pain and probably will try it but my experience with the citrate makes me cautious.

Hi alykat57

It's great to hear when something works for someone :)

I took a Magnesium supplement for about 2 months but didn't find that it made any difference.

However, I bought some Magnesium Oil Spray from Holland & Barrett a few weeks back, and it does take the edge off my pain.

I've been using it every day and still have some left in the bottle.

I will definitely be buying some more.

Yes alykat ive tried over the counter vits but not had good results I.m afraid, I let my g.p check my levels for fatigue and he prescribed a B12 injection, and a course of Folic Acid, because I take omeprazole pills for gerd I think a lot of the goodness in food is destroyed by the medication. I.m going back to g.p on Wednesday to get levels checked again to see if his remedies have worked. And to tell him the omeprazole are not working - I was recently made to go on a cheap version of PPI drug as the ones I had for 25 years were too expensive! I can see me buying those from an online pharmacy along with other things that have been removed from prescribing.. I have heard about magnesium sprays-never tried them though.

Hi i bought this on a site called iherb. It is a combination of magnesium and malic acid. The make is "Source Naturals" 180 tablets. I take 3 in the morning and 3 at bedtime. Sleep like a baby. Cost was $15.90 australian dollars plus postage. Having good results and hoping it lasts. I am 60yrs old, haven't worked for 6 years and today started a new job as a real estate property manager. Google magnesium and malic acid and read the benefits for yourself. I wish you well.

So bloody frustrating to hear that gps have no qualms switching patients over to cheaper versions of medications. Its especially annoying when these chsnges have obvious ill effects on their patients ( us). My gp recently removed voltarol emugel from my repeat script and prescribed piroxicam for widespread application. It doesn't helo with the pain i suffer from my bursitis in my right hip whatsoever and am in constant agony now. But oh wise one thinks it will be better( cheaper me thinks) for me....grrrrr leave our medications be 😡😡😡😡

I tried magnesium glycinate for a while and had no results, but the magnesium malate is working for me. Google magnesium and malic acid fit fibro and read the benefits for yourself.

I'm on magnesium maleate tablets as I've got a flare at the moment and my legs are really bad. It's a bit too early to tell if it's helping.

I'm also trying magnesium oil and like Lu, I'm finding it takes the edge off the pain and muscle spasms. I wipe it off afterwards with baby wipes as I've not got the energy to clean up the oily mess it leaves in the shower.

I got both on amazon (not sure if I can say this, but as I'm not mentioning a brand, I'll give it a go. Apologies to admin if this is not allowed).

yes, started taking a year ago, then felt much better, so after a while stopped! probably around 4/5 months of stopping, anxiety went through the room, 2 massive panic attacks, feeling anxious over everything. started taking mag malate again and hey presto within one day anxiety gone! to have a relaxed brain, relaxes your muscles, your not tense, it's great. so in answer to your question yes! proof i feel having started and then stopping and starting again.... its definitely the magnesium malate. gotta be malate as the most easily absorbed apparently.
