Has anyone else been advised to take magnesium? the pain med nurse said i should take a supplement, which helps towards spasms, and then i could possibly stop taking the baclofen?
if so what sort of strength should i go for?

Cherie please don't stop taking any of your meds without prior consultation with your GP. Hope it all works out for you

Have had magnesium and potassium, shortage of which can lead to quite serious problems. Also, food like bananas, strawberries, green veg. etc. increase in your diet should help. All the best.
hi pain management suggested this to me i tried it for 3 months it made no difference to me i was stil in pain
Hi Cherie, I was advised to take the liquid version by my herbalist, and to double the dose. I purchased some by Floradix, it tasted really nice and helped my IBS, but I can't afford to keep taking it as a suplement so I consume quite a bit of soya and try to eat the Japaneese seaweeds so many times a week.
I love miso soup, so add extra seaweed to that, and now make my own soya milk and tofu. I'm also going to try making my own soy yogurt, my last batch turned into a lovely creamy 'cheese', so I added seaweed to that too, along with some herbs!
I understand green leafy veg, cashew nuts, almonds, broccoli, wholegrains, wheatgerm, bananas and prunes are good for magnesium too, (info copied from a vegan's, (Liz Cook), cookbook called "So What DO You Eat?". I eat the fruit and nuts daily, along with the soya and greens, but I'm grain free at the moment so don't consume the other two things! I'm not veggie or vegan, but have had alot of helpful advice over the years from various groups of people who are.
Hope this helps some.
