Small Jerks since last month, whike going to sleep
Hi MalikG, I too experience the muscle jerks and also lots of muscle twitching. It started probably about a year and a half ago. As far as I can find out it'slinked to the fibro.
Sometimes the jerks are very strong and can cause me to chuck tea or whatever I happen to be holding across the floor.
It may well be worth talking to your GP about it just to rule anything else out.
Take care.

Hi MalikG welcome to our wonderful forum ☺ I'm sure you will come to find the forum invaluable in chatting to others who are going through the same experience as you, talking to others at different stages of their lives with Fibro and learning from their experiences.
It does help with the whole process and I wish I had found the site years ago. I have had Fibro for nearly 30 yrs and I'm still learning about it, like we all are.
I get a lot of involuntary jerks & like cespinosa they wake me up because they are so strong. Have you spoke to doctor. Amitriptyline is a drug that sometimes helps with this & is prescribed by GPS a lot for Fibro,
Please do go look at the mother site where you will find all the information you need and lots of useful links on Fibro and I look forward to chatting to you on the forum.
Peace, luv n light
Jan ☺

Hi MalikG
Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I am so genuinely sorry to read this and there is a condition you could talk to your doctor about (or to get it ruled out of the equation) called RLS also known as Willis-Ekbom disease. It is a common condition that causes muscle jerks and spams. I have pasted you a link below to the NHS Choices cache on this issue:

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.
All my hopes and dreams for you
Ken
Hi there MalikG. Welcome. Those twitches or jerks are called "fasticulations." I have them often and notice them most when I try to sleep or hold the cell phone. Since we cannot diagnose conditions, you ought to see your physician for a check-up. Take that opportunity to inform your provider about these new fasticulations. Because you are taking pain meds, I'll assume you're under the care of pain management. Therefore, it is that physician with whom you need to communicate. Be sure to write down whatever you want and why for doctor(s) to address in the short time you might have together. Comb through this forum for that. I hope that your worries will soon be gone. Best wishes. Blessings.
