Does anyone else have these? My G.P has taken blood tests and ordered ECG to rule out heart problems but he also indicated that it could be fibro. I go really faint and then vomit and am totally wet through. I would be grateful of any experience that anyone else has had. Many thanks snd wishing you all a painfree day!
Fainting episodes: Does anyone else... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Fainting episodes
I had my last 'unexplained, undiagnosed' blackout in 2011, unfortunately they were only witnessed by a 2 year old who was very empathetic and a 21 year old French Canadian who was so scared. If I remember correctly I had them over a span of around 3 years. I didn't know how long they lasted or what happened so no help to Dr's. Like you I had ECG (including a 24 hour monitor) but also EEG and MRI, saw a Neurologist too, no answers.
Your sounds like an Epileptic fit but I've not much experience of those and surely Dr would know that.
I do hope that they find answers for you.
Take good care of yourself
Hi there
I am not medically trained, but have had Fibro for 30 years and been a member of the forum for four years.
I don't ever recall the symptoms you are describing coming up.
I'm wondering whether it might be an idea for you to see a different GP and see what they say?
I personally wouldn't just put it down to Fibro without having some thorough checks first.
Wishing you wellness and peace
Lu xx
Thank you. The Dr is checking it thoroughly re my earlier post e.g. Blood tests and ECG. I asked him if it wasnt my heart what could it be and he replied Fibromyalgia! So I am now awaiting results of tests but was interested to know if anyone else had experienced this. Big hugs
Please don't think I was saying it wasn't a symptom of Fibro, just that it's not something that I can recall coming up very often.
The dizziness is quite common, but not with the vomitting etc.
I do apologise if my reply came across the wrong way.
I hope your tests come up with some sort of answer for you and I will be interested to see what other replies you get.
Hugs Lu xx
Your reply was fine and thank you for responding. It is good to hear comments/experiences others have had. I will update when I have more news x
whilst reading up about fibro and cfs, closely linked, as is intersticial cysitus, which l,d diagnosed many years ago, and knew many with ic and fibro. But on reading found there are other simular conditions, one called p o t s, also dysautonomia, many of same symptoms of fibro cfs but more prone to fainting, more so on standing up, along with nausea stomach probs, plus l and many also get gastric probs, all immune or nervous sytem conditions, article refer to autonomic system, and maybe same pathogen. Another sad bad thing theyve in common, no cures, just treatment of symptoms. to try improve. l think there is a test for pots dys, to do with heart rate between laying and standing. Maybe youve got answers by now, hope so, if not its worth a read on conditions, good luck
I too suffer this sort of episode. Whilst I have not actually been diagnosed with 'Fib' I have all the symptoms and already take 300mg pregablyn 2 time a day (along with a collection of strong painkillers as I suffer mobility problems).
I've had all the tests, including investigation for Stroke but my Dr is at a loss to find the cause of these faints. I'll follow thispost with interest & wish everyone a happy outcome.
I am so genuinely sorry to read this and I sincerely hope that your GP can get to the bottom of it for you? I have pasted you an excerpt and a link to the NHS Choices cache on fainting, so I sincerely hope that you find this useful:
*What causes a faint?
To function properly, the brain relies on oxygen that's carried in the blood. Fainting can occur when the blood flow to the brain is reduced.
Your body usually corrects reduced blood flow to the brain quickly, but it can make you feel odd, sweaty and dizzy. If it lasts long enough, you may faint.
There are various reasons for a reduction in blood flow to the brain, but it's usually related to a temporary malfunction in the autonomic nervous system. This is the part of your nervous system that regulates the body's automatic functions, including heartbeat and blood pressure. This type of fainting is called "neurally mediated syncope".
Neurally mediated syncope can be triggered by emotional stress, pain or prolonged standing. It can also be caused by physical processes such as coughing, sneezing or laughing.

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.
All my hopes and dreams for you

I am the same as you. It comes over so quickly. Narrow vision, sickening feeling, then the fizzing skin, especially all over the face and head, the colour leaves my eyesight and then I either have to sit or lay right where I am other wise I pass out. I then feel very nauseous or am actually sick. I then have to lay down for atleast an hour sometimes more if I fall asleep.
I have high blood pressure but it is controlled by meds. I have stage 3 kidney disease. I have Hypothyroidism. I have ME/CFS and I have Fibro. All other tests have come back clear so I can only put it down to the fibro/exhaustion. 😖
