Hi! I'm hoping that you all can help me with the results of my blood work. The only thing that my doctor said was....are you sure you're taking your medication!!!! Lol

T4. 0.26

TSH 60.460

Vit D 14.2

I have been feeling awful forever now. I told the Dr, this is how I felt last time, too. The office I go to, only has 15 min appts, so after he kept saying I'm really worried about you.....I've got other patients now!!! I took my husband with me, so he could see for himself what goes on at my Endo office. But he did make my follow up for 30 min, which was nice.

I have hashimotos as well. Verified by too test last year and ultrasound of gland.

I'm now on 350 of levo.

The last tsh was .46. So he laid into me about not taking my meds! I'm like, yes I do!!! Well when you get home call us if you have not been. I said, do you want me to call if I have been taking them? Oh, no...uhm not necessary.......he didn't get a a call from me!!!!!!!!

Thank you in advance for your time!

Some doctors are that way. My heart doctor ask a question then answers for me in and out no joke 10 min. Now my neurologist on the other hand is so busy but it doesn't matter how long he takes with each patient!! I have been in with him for almost a hour his response was they will wait because they know I will take just as much time with them if needed! Such a sweet man

Have a look at stopthethyroidmadness.com/ -- actually a long read, because there is a wealth of information there! There are also associated discussion lists with some very helpful and knowledgeable moderators! I have had thyroid problems for a long time, though I believe they are solved now, at least temporarily, I had Reverse T3, which is when your body does not correctly convert the T4 that your thyroid makes. It converts it to a reversed molecule that only clogs up and thus blocks the T3 receptors. BTW the doc that helped me solve this is a naturopath, not an endo. Endos have a reputation of not being good with thyroid problems. I'm also in the US, and there are labs that do testing directly for patients (not through a doctor). That web page will tell you the labs and what tests to get. I can tell that your numbers are way off and that you need more thorough testing, but I am not an expert so that's as far as I can go. Best of luck, and hugs too -- I know how awful you can feel with thyroid problems!

LDN -- low-dose naltrexone -- has been found to help with Hashimotos. For more info on that, look at lowdosenaltrexone.org/ or ldnscience.com. This is a prescription (for me it's through my naturopath), also helpful for fibromyalgia. I've taken it for years now.

I found this website really good in explaining lab results when my gp didn't go through them with me.

labtestsonline.org.uk/under...

By the way, unless you know the actual measurements used in the lab tests - i.e. nmol/L then those numbers are meaningless. I would personally get a printout of the test results and look them up on the internet and look up the 'normal reference range' which will tell you if your results are abnormal.

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering and struggling so much and I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck. I think that you may be better off asking about these results on the Thyroid forum as they will have a better knowledge of these than most of us will?

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Hi Snook, The level of care here in America is subpar to say the least. I live in central Florida and of course we're being especially"punished" for the past mistakes of the doctors and pharmacies in our state. I hope you have had some better care since your last post. I'm a newbie myself😀

thank you! Yes, I'm being retested and then we will see. Most importantly, I've learned that I'm in charge of my healthcare. If I need a second opinion so be it. But I'm VERY fortunate.....I have insurance. For a few years I didn't and that was a struggle. Thus I pray for everyone who is struggling with getting care.
