I am so sorry to read that your pain relief is not working too well for you and I sincerely hope that you can find the answers that you are looking for. I take Naproxen on occasion but I am rationed as I am an asthmatic and cannot have to many of them.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hello, I've got Ehlers Danlos ((Hypermobility) Syndrome and take Naproxen (up to one 30mg, three times a day) and am on Nortriptyline (up to two 25mg tablets, three times a day) for sprains, partial dislocations and joint pain.

Not sure of the difference between Nortriptyline and Amitriptyline but I can't tolerate the side effects of Amitriptyline. Hope this helps. 😊

Hi

When trying to get my pain under control at nights I was started on naproxen night and morning with a view to adding amitriptalin elf that didn't work. It didn't but the new GP switched the naproxen to tramadol before adding the amitriptyline. Although I have not taken both at the same time my doc was going to prescribe both together for me so they should be fine to take together

However, my old doc may have been trying to kill me to get me off his books of course ;) lol.... As always I would probably ask advice from a pharmacist as they are spot on with interactions. I heard my old doc would often say it is ok to take a dose of cocodamol with some tramadol if needs must....but most doctors wouldn't say that. I wouldn't want to advise you according to what one doc said was ok :)

Really hope that isn't too confusing. My mind most days is mush...and I haven't even started on the Amazon today yet. Lol. Hope you are feeling the benefit soon xxxx

Hi, I'm on both these plus Tramadol (slow release), fluroxetene, and something that protects the stomach from naproxen, sorry can't think of its name at moment. I take 1 Naproxen and 1 Tramadol morning and night, 4 Amitriptyline early evening, 2 fluroxetene at night. I top up when I need to with paracetamol.

But if you r not sure it's best to check with Dr. We all seem to respond differently to our meds.

Gentle hugs.

I've had both, but not regularly at the same time. I don't think Nortriptyline should be much different but speaking to pharmacist is a great idea. I checked out my meds once on a site designed to pick up conflicts. As usual Fog prevents me remembering what it was. Something like medic alert.

Not what you're looking for?
