God yes!! But mine is mainly due to perimenopause... I'm gathering your's isn't!? Speaking of sleep - I'm going to piss everyone off now.... Last Tuesday I had 5 straight hours of sleep!!!!! I haven't had that in years. Needless to say I haven't slept well since as per the norm. I shall always remember the 13 th of March 2025 ; )

I had the same issue and my GP prescribed Mirabegron. I really did not want to take any more medication but so far they have worked for me. I hardly go during the night. The urgency to go is so much better.

I think you need to check for diabetes. If that's clear have a prostate test done. Hope this helps

I agree that's why I asked was he drinking more. Thirst and going to the toilet more can be a sign of diabetes 👍

Yes my bladder feels even more irritable at night. I am told I have irritable bladder alongside IBS. Having a cystocele and rectocele do not help matters I guess. Pain , discomfort up and down to bathroom all night for years. . I think to myself though at least I get to move in night constantly as stiffness and pain if one tried to move after a good nights sleep would be even worse , Goodnight sleep Whats that ? Ha !Hope this makes sense,

Hello, just read your post, could it be your prostate that is causing you to pee a bit, I had/ have similar issues( peeing about 20 times a day), after a lot of tests and embarrassment, it turns out to be an enlarged prostate, just a thought, take care and hope i havnt embarrassed you

Hi Pastafox, 2 words Interstitial Cystitis. I know the feeling. I was diagnosed with IC oh probably 15-17yrs ago. This is very annoying to have to go very time I turn around. Interstitial cystitis is common with fibro and I also have noticed aging affects the frequency of having to get up at night to use the restroom. I don’t know your age but it seemed to me hit me around age 61 all these “wonderful” changes (not). The test for IC is pretty simple either you have it or don’t after or during the procedure of fluids going into the bladder. If it stings (positive) if it doesn’t ( negative). The treatment is usually a couple of medications that numbs the bladder that cuts back on the urge to go. Avoiding high citrus acid foods and caffeine also decreases the frequency of having to run to the restroom. I am sorry you are having to deal with this. Drinking water helps flushes the irritants out.

Breakfast has arrived.

I too was going to suggest IC. I’ve had it for years. Had bladder instillations, which helped but it meant weekly trips to the hospital. I used to self administer but now my back has deteriorated I find it too awkward.

I never had the bladder instillations. Was that something that numbed the bladder? I use to take the numbing pills (don’t remember the name but there are 2 different ones) and even had the bladder stimulater implanted but my body kept pushing the leads out so was more hassle so just had it removed. So now I just live with it. Yeah this aging thing…causes degenerative changes in our bodies.

Can so relate as a fellow male species! 6 times last night, & each morning I feel so lacking energy. I’ve carefully monitored what I drink and how to stay hydrated, but the need to go for a wee still is there with me wondering where’s it coming from. It’s hard going I tell you that

I don't mean to be rude, but are you getting to that age where you might be forgetting things? (I am.) A before bed checklist works. Doesn't stop all the ruminations, but helps.
