Hi I was taking my usual gonal f this cycle , and had day 21 day blood test came back that I had already ovulated a week ago, progesterone and estrogen are really high, so we missed a folicle somewer and completely missed the chance to trigger as I have pcos I don't ovulate myself sometimes the folicle must of been Hidden my nurse said , my breasts are full and heavy and sensitive apart from going up a full cup size I'd say they have been like this for 8/9 days , it's cycle day 24 today and they are massive , if I ovulated a week ago from my cycle day 21 blood test ,I'm now on cycle day 24 , this is my only symtom, Could this be a good sign of implementation or is this good sign that I could end up being preg as you no I'm 32 years old have fertility issues for a number of years but Iv never experienced my breasts so heavy and full for this amount of time , any one experience xxxxxxx sorry if the question sounds silly I never get period symptom or ovulation symptoms at all it's just the breasts you'd think I had gotten a boob job there so hard lol xxx

Hi there

Not sure how helpful this is. I recently had a medicated cycle and after I ovulated i did not have sore breasts immeidately, when ususlly after ovulation I do.

When i asked my clinic, they said that often the fertility medications can cause your body to react differently, and each cycle it can be a different reaction!

So basically what they were telling me was that there was no definite sign or symptom that would 100% confirm ovulation or pregnancy... I guess this means your symptoms don't definitely mean one thing or another and you'll only know testing over the next couple of days / weeks.

Sorry that doesn't give the clear answer you want but it sounds like you have a good chance for some good news soon :)

Thank you so much for replying, yes I was a bit taken back when my clinic told me that I 100, ovulated some time last week on the 21 day bloods they just told me that we think we have missed a folicle, and my progesterone and estrogen are high I was trying to work out when I could have ovulated just to pray I didn't miss my fertile window , so they don't really know for sure then , is the high progesterone and estrogen a good thing tho ? I wouldn't even no went to test as I'm all confused now , it's the breasts are just annoying me Im a c cup and if day I'm a full d if not over and I just haven't been wearing a bra this past couple of days as so uncomfortable xxxxxxxx thank you for your message I can't find anything on line with information as I'm doing timed intercourse before I take my next step for Ivf maybe hopefully could be our month but don't want to get hopes up as I had a very early miscarriage in January xxxxxx

oh that is so confusing, I’m sorry you’re going through that!

I think that’s one of the hardest things on this fertility journey - our bodies react is weird ways and it’s so hard to know what they mean and easy to over analyse every symptom trying to work out the mysteries :/

I no it's just I don't no how the clinic could have missed a folicle and wer able to tell me that I had already ovulated I never got to trigger so I am doing timed intercourse and I hope I haven't missed my fertile window , all the years on fertility treatments of course some women get side effects but I find it unusual my breasts are like this ,my husband doesn't mind tho 🤣 IL just maybe go bra less for another while xxxxxx

I think Estrogen is why the breasts swell and get heavy so mine must be high just but like other than that I actually feel good ! Hard to get used to the bigger tighter breasts tho maybe if I haven't implanted or am in the process It might calm down if period arrives xxxxx

IV just read that progesterone and estrogen can give u sore breasts but I honestly don't even no when iv ovulated because the clinic missed it on the internal scans , they have been very big and heavy for I'd say a good 8/9 days underneath my left Brest has settled now it was very swollen and hard I litterly thought it was going to pop but thats all settled now tho just now there both massive and my sorry for tmi but my nipples have doubled in size I don't even feel like it's my body it very unusual, as I have been getting fertility treatments for nearly coming up to 2 years xxxxxx

Hi Dashound1, before ovulation occurs your estrogen increases while your progesterone stays very low. After ovulation your progesterone increases significantly because the follicle that released the egg turns into the corpus luteum and starts to release progesterone. If fertilisation and implantation occurs the corpus luteum will continue to make progesterone until the placenta of the baby starts producing progesterone on its own. If there is no pregnancy, the corpus luteum breaks and your progesterone drops. The drop in progesterone causes your period to start. I think this is how they managed to determined that you had ovulated and that you are in the luteal phase of your cycle. Based on your dates, you only have a few days left before you can check if you are pregnant and I really hope this is your lucky time 💕 hopefully a little egg has fertilised and the progesterone will continue to stay high ❤️

Hi Dashound1, at the beginning of my pregnancy my breast really hurt for a few days and then they didn’t hurt at all! Hormones just cause a lot of changes all the time. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you ❤️
